"But the Gunners boss warned that global economic problems could lead to lower attendances throughout the league.

"First of all we had disappointing results recently and the second factor is that we are going towards a huge financial crisis," said the Frenchman."The stadiums will be less quickly full and we have noticed that already."Areas of empty seats were visible during the Gunners' 3-0 win at Emirates Stadium, which came thanks to Robin van Persie's brace and a late third from Alex Song.Attendances so far in the Premier League appear to be holding steady but most clubs have only played three home matches."

Its inevitable that with the global economic crisis that football will eventually be hit. It will interesting to see what happens.

I've already noticed how easy it is to get tickets (not Tickets11 - he doesn't support Everton) to home games this season.

As good as that is for me, it is not a good sign of things to come.

If Arsenal are feeling it then there will be a lot of clubs that must be petrified of what is to come.

its bad news for the players, managers & tv pundits who all make ridiculous money out of the sport. The fans enjoyed football in the 50's, 60', 70's, 80's when their was little money in the game......

You'd imagine at some point a legal case with happen and do for clubs what the bosman ruling has done for players. things just can't carry on as they are... and more importantly, when they don't there will be some very profitable businesses around.
