The usual victim mentality by the religious. There is paedophilia in many parts of human life, however, when you claim a moral authority over peoples lives, and attempt to hoist that upon others, please do not whine and moan when others attack said moral authority, and mock the institute and its attempts at cover up at the expense of doing the right thing.

The fact people still pile into the churches, donate money, and act tearful at the departing of the previous pope, (ex-benedict), shows how remote some are when it comes to reality.

It is right that such institutes are attacked, and any claims of persecution are so damned wrong it is not funny. You know what happened when the catholic church oppressed people? People died, in their thousands, and people die in their millions today because of the churches doctrine on contraception, (please, if you are a catholic, show me where in the bible it talks about contraception?), so forgive me if I don't shed a tear because you feel that the church is having a hard time.

I agree. A blight on mankind. If the only reason people do either good stuff, or don't do bad stuff is because they are a sky-fairy licker, then what does that say about them?

Unfortunately, there's such a massive lack of education globally, that religion on the whole is on the rise. By the time everyone is educated enough to see it for what it is, the four horsemen will have turned up.

Last time I passed church on a Sunday, there was a heap of coffin dodgers smelling of _piss and biscuits waiting to get in... once they die, that place will be empty....

ps can't yer_fucking read Josie? I'm not on about the actual practising of the religion just the general highlighting of everything a catholic priest does but nobody mentions mulsim or protestant paedophiles or the fact muslims bury woman and kids up to their necks and stone them to death or execute women before a football game

Why is the media and everyone other than practising Catholics for that matter hell bent on slagging this religion off at every opportunity?

So there are no muslim, protestant and whatever other religion with paedos who have never covered any wrong doings up in thier entire histoy? The way it seems every other religion is morally perfect bar the Catholic one.

You don't see knoxy etc lambasting his own religions paedophile laden vicarages or would he nor would the uk media attempt to upset the muslim religion so why is it so fashionable and the in thing to continuously slate the catholic one?

As if any of it has anything to do with religion anyway!

One day, a scorpion looked around at the mountain where he lived and decided that he wanted a change. So he set out on a journey through the forests and hills. He climbed over rocks and under vines and kept going until he reached a river.
The river was wide and swift, and the scorpion stopped to reconsider the situation. He couldn't see any way across. So he ran upriver and then checked downriver, all the while thinking that he might have to turn back.

Suddenly, he saw a frog sitting in the rushes by the bank of the stream on the other side of the river. He decided to ask the frog for help getting across the stream.

"Hellooo Mr. Frog!" called the scorpion across the water, "Would you be so kind as to give me a ride on your back across the river?"

"Well now, Mr. Scorpion! How do I know that if I try to help you, you wont try to kill me?" asked the frog hesitantly.

"Because," the scorpion replied, "If I try to kill you, then I would die too, for you see I cannot swim!"

Now this seemed to make sense to the frog. But he asked. "What about when I get close to the bank? You could still try to kill me and get back to the shore!"

"This is true," agreed the scorpion, "But then I wouldn't be able to get to the other side of the river!"

"Alright then...how do I know you wont just wait till we get to the other side and THEN kill me?" said the frog.

"Ahh...," crooned the scorpion, "Because you see, once you've taken me to the other side of this river, I will be so grateful for your help, that it would hardly be fair to reward you with death, now would it?!"

So the frog agreed to take the scorpion across the river. He swam over to the bank and settled himself near the mud to pick up his passenger. The scorpion crawled onto the frog's back, his sharp claws prickling into the frog's soft hide, and the frog slid into the river. The muddy water swirled around them, but the frog stayed near the surface so the scorpion would not drown. He kicked strongly through the first half of the stream, his flippers paddling wildly against the current.

Halfway across the river, the frog suddenly felt a sharp sting in his back and, out of the corner of his eye, saw the scorpion remove his stinger from the frog's back. A deadening numbness began to creep into his limbs.

"You fool!" croaked the frog, "Now we shall both die! Why on earth did you do that?"

The scorpion shrugged, and did a little jig on the drownings frog's back.

"I could not help myself. It is my nature."

Then they both sank into the muddy waters of the swiftly flowing river.

Self destruction, "Its my Nature", said the Scorpion...

your half right..sad to say I had to kick Cherry Blossom out , she wanted to visit a friend locally so I let her take the old Range Rover, but she took the new one when I wasn't looking .I asked her not to be too late getting home and if she was that I'd lock all the doors. She eventually got home at 2am and I  caught her squirming through the dog flap in the kitchen door, When I put the lights on, she was half way through and stuck. I couldn't stop laughing at the sight I left her there and in the morning I pulled her through. I checked the petrol gauge and calculated that she had been to Melbourne which is about 100 miles from here. I took her to Ballarat and put her on the Melbourne train. So bye bye sweet Cherry Blossom. Now I've got to organize another trip to Bali for myself. The things one has to do ?

Not sure if you are serious? This thread is about Christian 'persecution'. You started the thread, you created the topic. Now you want to whinge, and moan because you got responses you don't like? Well, again, you seem like you are just a bit of a whiny, crybaby. I've got pics for all sort of religions. Pick one, and we'll see what I've got, but until then we'll talk about Christian persecution, and the victim mentality you seem to have.

As for your insults, etc, hardly screams 'Christian' to me but congratulations for fulfilling your stereotype for me. Either you accept that the child abuse scandal in the church is an issue that needs addressing, and that the churches attitude to the entire thing needs attacking, or you do not, but please, grow up and stop crying because your precious invisible friend club is getting criticism.

    amazing isnt it?

i wonder what it could be? surely not the covering up of pedophilia by priests! and not the new pope supporting a bloody murderous regime in argentina! nor their loathesome abuse of the gay community! or the misery of aids and sexually transmitted diseases that they have encouraged by ordering their brainless flock of sheep not to use condoms. the poverty and misery caused by that policy as well as the overpopulation in so many places in latin america, phillipines and africa. i see no reason why any of that should be criticised at all. we should all pretend that it never happens.
