    mate if you want to be happy with inept team selctions and tactics then that fine for you im not, IF you think playing neville in the centre instead of our best midfielder is good tactics then thats good for you, if you think playing our best centre midfielder upfront is good when we got 3 strikers on bench then good for you, if you think coleman should play ahead of barkley whos our most promising player in years (whos rested/protected) after 5 games into the season then good for you.sory im getting totally fed up of poor team selection and tactics now, 1 attacker at home vs poor teams is not good enough, a team that looks absolutely clueless going forward, im not happy to settle for a lame 2-0 defeat because its citeh and they got money, moyes never gave us a chance of getting a result 3 players up for a corner lol , were are being killed as an attacking threat by moyesy's tactics that why weve struggled to break teams down, maybe get rid of round or something bring in a coach who has a clue about strikers and attacking options because moyes certainly hasnt .

    and it will be the best tactics in the world when we win the derby next week mate......as for being happy, we are playing a VERY expensively assembled team in man city, regardless of how we played the best we could hope for would have been a draw away from home. if you cant understand that, my suggestion would be to go and take up croquet or watch beach volleyball or something.

    but at least play your best player in there best positions ffs, moyes totally baffles me most of the time. and if you slip into the same mindset that were suppose to lose vs citeh because they got money then obviously we may as well not turn up for the next month because we wont win any games, weve beat good teams in the past with poorer teams yet you accept losing and poor tactics just because it was citeh moneybags.

    Moyes played 4 1 4 1, and I would of played 4 4 1 1. That would give us a better chance of getting a shot on target and scoring a goal, and I wouldn't play 6 midfielders in any game to be honest. I think that Cahill is only useful when he is coming from deep, and I think that Fellaini and Rodwell in the centre would be able to break things up, especially Fellaini. Neville never had the best of games today, but I wouldn't of started with him to be honest. I would of given Drenthe his chance as I thought he played quite well on Wednesday, and I think that Vellios deserves his chance as well, as he looks more deteremined than anyone that we have at the moment. I don't mind us playing one striker away at one of the bigger teams, but I do have a problem with us defending from the first minute.

    we will never come to a reasonable conclusion on this debate imo! we all have our separate opinions at the end of the day, and it makes for good debate.......whatever happens, the best we could have hoped for today is a daraw and thats just how it is, regardless of how we went about it, and that is a fact. :)

    I would of taken a point without a doubt mate, but you can't defend for 90 mins against anyone.

    Apart from the cup final how many times have we got away with it? I know for a fact that almost all of the time defending for the entire match doesn't work.

    Poor tactics really, as we went for the best hope; which was a draw, he should have played 6-4-0. They'd never have scored then.

    what a ridiculous comment.... i love it when people try to state a `fact` when its their opinion. was it a `fact` that we were going to lose our previous meetings with Man City? i bet most people thought that. but we won.     how was `today a draw` before the game a `fact`??? i think you need to research the meaning of fact.
    of course you arent going to admit this but I think you probably had the same mentality last year when talking about going to Eastlands yet against all odds we won the game. To say its a `fact` is wrong. To say its your opinion thats fair enuf.

    Ok fella, its of my opinion (and most peopel that live in the real world) that the best we could have hoped for yesterday was a draw.........i said its a fact, because, in reality, whatever tactic or formation we played yesterday, the best we could have hoped for is a draw.

    If that was a champions league game (hypothetically speaking) and Man City were from Spain or somewhere, everyone would have been saying 'wonder how man we will get beat by'.......but because its in the EPL a lot of people seem to think we have every chance of beating them, a team assembled for about 300-400 million?? 1 in maybe 8 we would beat them at the moment away from home is my guess.....and thats the point i was making mate :)

    ok i hear what your saying. its a interesting philosophy. although last year there team was assembled with hundreds of millions. I have to admit when i was in the pub yesterday and asked my friend to tell me the result I was thinking `weve won this game`........but to be honest im just unhappy with the way we went about it (as said in other thread). a lot of people on here say...`on our day, we can anybody`. well you could say that about any team. but those `days` arent gonna happen playing those kinda tactics

    Mate, i always hope we win, i jsut think sometimes, looking at it from a realistic perspective, especially away at the likes of manu, manc etc, its very difficult to get a win, i cant remember the last time we won at old trafford, so deep down i think, i'd be happy if we didnt lose today as opposed to 'the best we can hope for is a draw'....if that words it better??

    I just think whether you go looking to defend and nick a goal on the counter attack, or you go looking to attack and win the game, theres more chance you will end up getting beat 3 or 4 nil if you play more attacking than if you went looking to nick one on the break.

    Imo, if that deflected goal hadnt gone in, in another few minutes, Drenthe and Saha would have come on anyway and we would have tried to take the game to man city a bit in the last 15minutes cos they were starting to get a bit frustrated at the end of the day, if the deflected goal doesnt happen, and we then nick one in the 84 minute through drenthe stretching tired legs at the back, everyone then says Moyes got it exactly right! i said this in another thread, sometimes its just fine margins between winning. losing or drawing....even if the scenario i said didnt happen and the deflected goal doesnt open us up, i think we hold them to 0-0 at worst and everyone says, ok it wasnt pretty to watch but Everton deserved to hold on for a point through there defensvie display. Think sometimes people forget, that defending can can win a game just as much as attacking can, we showed that when we go 4th that year and were nicking games 1-0 :).

    I'm neither right nor wrong though mate, thats for sure, im jsut open to debate as much as you are :)
