I agree with Salty. Not every manager might fancy playing derbies against the Red S every year. But the Club needs to have a study done on Youth Policy,Forward Planning,Players past it,Future requirements and move on the slackers in the team with the nice contracts. I don't even rate Gibson so I know I am in for criticism from many of you. But I am an Evertonian from the catterick era and I just want rejuvenation in our Club with dare I say David Moyes staying.

So we have one bad day against Wigan, and you all want rid of the manager. that defeat had nothing to do with Moyes and everything to do with the performance of the players. lets face it we all got ahead of ourselves and booked our cup final tickets, and lost sight of the fact we had to win two more tough matches to get there. the defence was non existent, we obviously can't survive without Howard and Jags at the back. on any normal day under DM we would have completely outclassed Wigan, it was just a blip, a freak result!

It's going to be impossible for any manager to break into the top 4 without investment. I was praying all January that Bale would go to Barca cos I thought that would give us a chance. We have been playing terrific football this season at times, we've just been lacking a goalscorer. Jela was firing last season, but not now. how is it Moyes fault?? GIVE ME STRENGTH!!

we have been so close to top 4/fa cup this season. i think success is just around the corner with DM. just need a few quid for players.

Who do you want?? Martinez? fa cup semi final but 18th in the league? no thanks.
Moyes ruining all our strikers? boo hoo hoo. man up jelavic and put the ball in the net. need a bit of big dunc's spirit in jelavic if you ask me.

Big Dunc was hardly prolific. Not the best of examples. And if you are doubting Jelavic's work rate then I would wholly disagree with you.

Same old same old, your not true Evertonians, read your History boys. We are inovators in football all through our history, 1st to do everything, Nil Satis Nisi Optimum not Nil Satis Nisi Sameus year in year out.
Whoever we get coz dont forget Moyes isnt showing much interest in staying, will need to be a Manager for today not yesterday, someone to try things to move the players forward, give them fresh ideas, better ways of playing, coz the way we have played hasnt worked, personnel have changed over the years but the style of play hasnt, we are so predictable.
The change might not work, but i'd like to know weve tried moving on and not stood still, that boys isnt Everton Football Club.
People are saying they are ashamed to be Evertonians today, well i say to that, never be ashamed of being Evertonians, the History of the club and players tells you that, but be embarrassed YES!!

Looks like there are lots of experts who have played too much Football Manager on here.......Moyes is amongst the top 5 managers in the Premier League.

The only thing that has prevented Moyes and the team progressing is a lack of money.

Until the club has a major investment, Alex Ferguson would probably struggle to make Everton a top six team!

Another sensible post ! Almost restores your faith in human nature that not everyone on here is running with the lynch party after a bad day at the office.

I agree with this. Moyes has been held back by the Club's failure to provide him with just that little bit of extra funding. That is why we are a top eight club, rather than top four. This last January was a perfect example- we needed one or two players, and if BK et al were properly behind the team, do you think Moyes' efforts to buy would have come to nothing, as they did? I hope that he manages to use his contract negotiations to force them to provide that small amount of extra money. Then I want to see how he gets on, before judging him. The alternative is another five years of EFC working on a shoestring, this time with an unknown quantity in the dugout.
