Some old g*t sitting behind me at the match today kept telling me off because, shock horror, i had the audacity to stand up once or twice when Everton were on the attack. Eventually i turned around and politely told him that if he had a small child who was struggling to see then fair enough and also if also if he prefers to just sit there in silence rather then get beind the team maybe he would be better off watching the game on TV. To which his face went red and he replied that he would get me ejected from the ground! I did sit down for the rest of the match though because i couldn't be bothered with the aggro.
It did get me thinking though because very few other people stand up when Everton attack these days but years ago everyone did. So who was in the right here? And if i'm in the wrong and the old guy is right the then when did things change for this become anti social behaviour? Or perhaps is it the case that fans dont stand and cheer as much simply because were not quite as passionite as we used to be?

you were deffo in the wrong and should go back and apologise.

or continue to enjoy your football and encourage the team

i would choose the second option
