Fans Parliament

    Not sure if anyone has read much of the Blue Union's releases but one of the things they have mentioned is a campaign for a fans parliament. Something that they say they are in advanced talks with the club about forming. The parliament would/should be reflective of all fans (irrespective of whether they are a member of a protest group or not).

    Anyway, I've been in correspondence with the Blue Union about this and I personally feel that if a parliament is to be formed then the club should announce that this is the case; and everybody should be given equal notice and an opportunity to campaign for election.

    You're probably rolling your eyes now :-@ and feeling a bit %-(

    Anyway, just wanted to know if anyone was interested and had any thoughts?

    I think your right mate, it should be open for anybody to stand as a fans elect, not just narrowed down to a certain few, cos at the end of the day, all us fans have very differing opinions on the club, so it should go to a vote or something i feel :)

    But i may need to see a manifesto first.

    I am curently liasing with blue onion and feel we could form a coallition government.

    It seems to have worked really well in the real word.

    So, we've got OGV, Adidas and Milky on the campaign trail. Sorted.

    Not joshin but I'd be interested. Thing I'd need to know is what kind of thing would the Parliament have a say in? Not worth puttin summit together unless I know what areas would be covered?

    Press Release policy?
    Fan liaison generally?
    New kits?
    Merchandising?
    Fan offers?
    Concerns?

    Happy for you to clarify where you stand in the Fans Parliament if it would give the Union a better voicing?

    Blue Union's position on the Fans Parliament:

    "We (both Evertonians for Change and the Union) only want to assist and if need be canvass towards a fan's parliament. We don't want to be a part of it, be elected to it or play any significant role it when it is running. We are more than happy to simply provide the club with the suggestions on how we believe it can be fair and representative (using the information we have received from Wolves FC who run a fan's parliament very successfully) and if they implement them, say thanks and leave it in their hands!"

    What would the parliament do? It's a bit of a grand name for something that I assume would have little power. Fan's Council seems more apt.
