Bit harsh to concede the second and no doubt some fans will be calling for Drenthe's head after that pass; but lets be fair the team were sent out to defend for 90 minutes against a good attacking team.

Referee didnt help as evidently getting booked for tackling is going to throw out Everton's confidence when challenging.

If we'd gone out with a more positive outlook then we might well have done better. End of the day they have got a much better team than us.

bullllllllllshit citeh were poor and if moyes had any clue tactically we may of got a result, hes killing us as an attacking team and happy to lose game slike that 2-0

i knw we had to defend and keep it tight, but at least we made them work for everyone chance, and it goes to show that an organised team can push a team of multi million pound players all the way, i didnt expect us to win, so im not going to complain about anything, on paper city have a better side, its jsut how it is, we gave a good solid account imo :)

Agreed but the ref didn't help
and playing Drenthe on the right made me wonder
    but Seamus didn't do much
    better team won

johno - if you read your post and mine you'll find we're not a million miles apart! We both said that more positive tactics would have helped.

As for city being poor - we are a good team so we should give them a run for their money.

1st half we're great defensively but we were so limited attacking wise. I think Neville is a good right back but I'd of played Felli in that defensive mid role and Cahill behind Vellios.

mate citeh were poor and we were very poor other than prking 11 players infront of trhe ball , moyes is killing any attacking ambitions we have sooner lose 5-0 and at least try than sit there like lame ducks and be happy to lose 2-0 if your happy to lose 2-0 because were against a good side then good for you moyres gave us no chance of getting a result and it was only a matte rof time before they scored

I agree but our corners were embarrassing! We had 2 maybe 3 players in the area

That's the thing though. we are a very good team, so why should city look good against us? We should work them; and we did - unfortunately not enough because we didnt press them with attacking play.

As for city being poor - they stuck to their guns and broke down a very good team. What more should they do? I dont understand.

Its bizarre in footy that if a good team play badly against us then that team is playing badly; rather than us doing well? That said, Moyes should have field Barkley and we should have had a striker on the pitch.

I completley agree mate, if it wasnt for that i dont think they would have scored and it would have been a job well done pat on the back, good point for us

if we had nicked the game 1-0 we would have said he got it exactly right, if they dont score a defelcted goal i dont think they would have scored then we would have sauid we ground out a good point, if we had played more attacking and got beat 4-0 everyone would have moaned we are crap......very tight margins mate imo thats all :)

do you think we ever looked like nicking it? did you think the bus infront of our goal would last out? we had a corner and had 3/4 players in there box, we were never going to nick that game beacause moyes's poor tactics and seloections

if it were not for a deflected goal they wouldnt have scored mate, ask any neutral fan they will tell you the same, and then it would have been a good point earned. Not many teams will go and win and city this season mate so a point would have been a good result for us, whether we attack and get a draw or defend and get a draw, what does it matter?? and as long as a game is 0-0, theres ALWAYS a chance you can nick one.

They are the best team in the premier league this season - I don't care what anyone says. We're not in that league, simple as that. If we were to pick the best Premier League XI this season, almost the entire midfield would be Man City. I just hope Drenthe's confidence doesn't fall apart after that.

An odd team will get a day like we did last year and sneak a result out of that place but even the likes of Manure and Chelsea won't hold them to as few chances as we did today.

As for Moyes being happy with keeping the score down, I'm not sure such a schoolboy comment really deserves a response. But I could have sworn when the final whistle went I saw Moyes giving Manchini a grumpy handshake and heading straight down the tunnell with a face of thunder rather than jumping for joy and greeting his players with glee as they left the pitch.

End of the day, you can look at our game there last season or when we played them at Goodison, or games like at White Heart Lane or Stamford Bridge (twice) and our set up was similar and our forrages forward were just as rare. In those games it came off and nobody complained. Today it didn't. That's how it works!

The game opened up more cos we went 1 down though, if they hadnt got the deflected goal we would have continued to keep it tight instead of chasing the game....FFS mate, we are all entitled to our opinion, and im not en expert, but i do wonder how much you do actually understand the ethics of footballand how it works fullstop.
