he had no consistency, he gave shitee a freekick for the exact same thing as what happened to Saha.

It was a **** poor refereeing performance today.

    - Should've had 2/3 free kicks on the edge of the area.
    - Kompany stomped on Cahill and should've been sent off. Cahill got a yellow card instead.
    - Should've had a throw in before the first goal, but it was wrongfully awarded to City. Probably more the linesman's fault on that occasion.

I was wondering when the board would get around to commenting on Webb, the referee. I don't think this official is aware of the word consistency and how he was gifted the 2010 World Cup Final defies any rationale or explanation. Tackles that have always been regarded as innocuous, how else could the game be played, are now selectively greeted with a yellow card. Both Manchester teams seem schooled in the art of rolling on the ground in feigned agony until a card is produced for the tackler and are then seen running around like two-year olds minutes later. Our players must wonder what is going on and especially when an opponent tackles one of our own players in the same manner and it is waved off. I end up thinking that officials nowadays orchestrate football matches as part of their officiating.

It's bad enough that EFC has to contend with opponents that can spend an amount at the commencement of one season on new acquisitions sufficient enough to wipe out our indebtedness, but then have to take the field against such a team plus "one other" for the full 90 minutes. This whole EPL scenario is becoming completely farcical and will never change because the English FA knows full well that 15 of the teams are powerless to do anything about just being regarded as making up the fixture list. They can't go on strike like Unions in protest for that would only add further to their indebtedness. And they also realize that the fans wouldn't dare to stay away in droves in protest for that too would incur added financial indebtedness. So it looks like the English FA have football fans and the 15 Premier League teams just where they want you all.

Can't say that I disagree; the divide is just going to grow, especially with these financial rules. Teams with more money will find it easier to exploit loopholes, whilst those that don't will be left behind. English football needs some sort of regulation like American sports.

The fact that Joe Royle at half time felt compelled to say Webb was doing a good job says it all - if the ref is doing a good job, you dont mention him; end of.

A good ref does his job unnoticed.

Webb consistently (and this is the only thing he does consistently) manages to get himself involved in games; and that is wrong.

His performance today was deplorable. If a team is singled out and receives bookings early on, of course it will effect how you play. He knew Everton would get about City today and he completely disrupted that aspect of our play.

The Cahill decision was a shocker and I thought Moyes did well to raise awareness - the jokers in the commentary box completely overlooked it until that point.

As for Saha, and Baines, the same player blocked both of these lads. Now, if it had been two different players, you kinda make a decision based on the events separately, but it was Kompany (who also nobbled Cahill). So, three fouls on our players completely unanswered. Cahill was a booking; and for me so was the block on Saha - red card? I don't think so, I think Kompany lets Saha go because he's on a yellow and that gives Saha a chance on goal.

Wow! I'm just now getting to watch the match and he is HORRIBLE. I followed along on various sites and heard how bad he was but not that I've seen him, it was terrible. I wish the FA would hold them accountable.

Never seen web ref everton fairly yet, there was the high foot on howard as he saved a shot, result corner to shitie. A tackle on jags from behind as he cleared, silva put the studs down the back of his ankle, result just a free kick, yet the rodwell tackle on silva shows he won the ball cleanly & gets booked. It makes you wonder if money talks. Its about time clubs had the right to object to certain reff's officiating there games if they can prove inconsistent decisions are been made towards them by certain referees.

The ref was really poor today, however we lost because of our tactics, not because of the ref.
