    Well... the good news is he is at the bottom of his dip in form.

    He couldn't buy a break last night and you can see he is rock bottom confidence wise... he even appeals for penalties when he's been hauled down in a half hearted manner. Absolutely nothing went for him last night... getting pulled up for fouls, his header, his decision making with that shot he took early...you name it, it wasn't going to go his way. I could be wrong (they'd used up their replay quota on Gibsons nailed on hand ball!), but it even looked to me as if he was trying to make a glancing contact, and not a dummy, on Osman's goal and missed.

    Just hope he gets some confidence back from something, anything... he's still working hard though which is good, but needs to add some belief to it.

    couldnt score in a brothel right now. put the effort in but his touch was woeful last night.

    Hope he comes good soon.

    The media view of him is funny though... when he is banging goals in for fun.... there are rumours saying he is apparently unhappy at Everton and is looking for a move.

    Now that he can't hit a barn door with a banjo there is not a peep out of them.

    I think this is partly down to the style of play we have been using this season. We seem to pass the ball about a bit more trying to create space. Jelavic was always better when we play a fast ball in and he reacted to it, now we give teams time to mark Jelavic because it takes us 2, 3, 4 or even 5 passes around the oppositions penalty area before we play the killer ball

    its a fair point... he is more suited to Fellaini playing in midfield rather than further forward.

    He will come good soon hopefully. He just needs that one lucky shot or touch now. He is class but just struggling for confidence now. One goal and he will be back.

    And so he should, he is a striker afterall but that was 15 games a go if I remember rightly nowhere near the return he is capable of. I like the passing style of football and holding onto posession but sometimes when all else fails you need to stick it into the box at first sight catch the opposition off guard and let Jelavic do his thing.

    agree..does not matter how he scores it..off his knee,arm, hand, backside..as long as it goes in!

    I honestly dont know if thats enough...he was playing cr*p before the spurs game...got a last ditch winner..then played crap after

    he's not playing "crap" he's just not scoring...

    his workrate off the ball is very good...his strength is his movement in the box...he's just not playong to his strength at the moment...imo ..trying too hard..just needs to relax...it'll return...

    If I remember correctly, he looked a bit of a donkey when he first arrived- drifting wide, conceding fouls against defenders and getting called offside. It was only after about three games that he fell into the groove. It seems that, when he feels under pressure to perform, he loses his cool and with it, his reading of the game. I agree with many BR members, that he needs an attentive partner to take some of the resposibility off him, do the running around. Fellaini is not this man. Naismith might be- after all, they forged a good reputation together at Rangers. If I may be a bit controversial, I will say that Jelavic would benefit from trying to emulate Berbatov, although I can't imagine Moyes saying this to him!

    last night was the first time since end of last season that he strictly ran the box channels only..and when he drifted out of these..it was like a rabbit inthe heqdlights and he couldn't get back in them quick enuff...moyes was shouting him constantly to stay central...

    Once he started scoring goals he got a lot more attention and close marking,I feel sorry for him because he takes a battering. If he had got a touch on the Osman header I think it would have helped his confidence. [-O<

    too static in the box at the moment...however, this leaves open space for others..hence fellaini scores...osman scores and last night mirallas....

    he'll come good against Reading....too good a player for this drought to continue....he's probably working too hard at the moment outside the box...needs to focus more getting into the right positions inside the box....

    Agree that he could do with a strike partner.... but in fairness, even if Moyes went out into the market and got one, would he stick them both on the pitch at the same time? Both up front, and not one out wide on the right...
