if referees give a freekick for intent to foul (even if no contact)......

    I still recall the RS getting a penalty years ago for a sliding tackle on Gerrard. It missed him completely but the ref awarded the pen for the apparant 'intent to foul'.

    The act of that goalie is a new one though. It must have put Howard off if nothing else. If only the ball had actually hit his hand we'd have been ok. Frustrating, but at least it wasn't the winner!

    clutchin at straws lads, fair play to there goalie, he did what he had to do, what the fkwas  duffy at, one thing he had to do was mark smith, and he made a balls of it

    it was a blatant foul , whether he handled it or not, he went up as if to punch it, you can throw a punch and miss but still get penalised for it, IT WAS A FOUL

    Surely comes under the 'Ungentlemanly behaviour' rule.

    Although goofy & stevie mee would never be on the pitch if we spouted that every week.
