    How is it a waste, the people who chipped in wont actually effect them financially.

    It makes me sad to see gazza like this and I wish him all the best in sorting himself out.

    In my eyes he's a football legend and given this country a lot to smile about. The problems a difficult one, George best didn't learn despite a transplant which goes to show you some people cannot help themselves.

    I'm happy he's accepted the help.

    Everything's relative mate, gazza has a good heart and its hard to see a legend being barely able to speak, I still wish him all the best if it cost millions.

    If you want to talk about starving children I also agree, but that's opening a hole other can worms.
    I realised over the last few years what this world is really about, power and money and usually to worlds populations health.

    I won't sponsor a child or a tiger for five pound a week, this world is very corrupt and I imagine more will become apparent over the next five years. I can't remember who said it but the only bad in this world is the good people who didn't bother to stop it.

    im glad you said that ogv, a lot of people dont realise that mental illness is an ILLNESS aswell, yes the drink is the main part of why hes in the state he is, but all his mental issues havnt helped either!..i think the main part of why a lot of the public care about him is because they have been used to seeing him on their tvs, newspapers for the best part of 25 years, he has given a lot of people a lot of happy memorys down the years..italia 90 euro 96..whether some people like him or not the fact is he is a public figure in this country..does that make him more important than someone else who is ill or who is dying?..of course not!..has he had countless chances over the years..yes!..so does that mean we should just give up on people and not help them.?.i think the day the latter happens is a very sad day indeed, and i for one hope that gazza makes a full recovery and i wish him all the best!!

    i agree with the sentiment pal but we are all hypercrites, yes there are children who need money for life saving surgery..do we think about them when we spend about £100 quid on match day to watch a game of football and get pished????..if we did wouldnt the world be a fantastic place!

    Hang on mate, you work hard for your money, as do I. That entitles you to enjoy yourself. That fat mess was on thousands of pounds a week, easily enough to set himself up for a life of comfort. Now cos he's drank and gambled it all away he gets more because "he's a legend". Sorry, he's screwed up, make your bed you lie in it.

    but why are footballers on thousnds of pounds a week?..coz fans like us go and pay fortunes to watch em, you cant then start dictating what they spend their money on. whos to say any of us with gazzas fame and fortune would have been and delt with it any better than he has?..i agree with what you said about children needing life saving surgery, but do we think about them when we but our footy tickets, beer, fags, flat screen tv, x box, playstation, holiday abroad, local brass,..do we spare a thought for those ill kids when were buying all that c.rap?..of course we dont! and like you said you work hard your entitled to enjoy yerself..so did gazza, takes a lot of dedication to be a proffesional footballer..the mans made mistakes granted but i dont wish him death because of it!
