I'm not sure what we were meant to do against the team currently sitting 12 points clear of the reigning premier leage champions with 12 games to go. But going to their place and winning was probably a long shot was it not?

I agree it was a long shot but it gets even longer when you continue to give away sloppy goals. Was at the game and it struck me we don't have any plan B. Felli was looked after by Jones and Vic was too isolated. Nothing else to offer. Mirallas very poor. We really needed a fresh face in transfer window.
Got to pick ourselves up not with a lot of really tough away games to come.

We tried to bring in a couple and it didn't work out. People moan about Fer.... but no one moaned about Forssell.

Looks like we have made a mistake in not strengthening at the back though. Heitinga is looking awful at times... and Distan is more than getting on a bit now. That said it seems Moyes and the fans all wanted another midfield player and a striker.

there were rumours about a possible Lescott loan deal.....until Kompany got injured.......maybe that was a goer otherwise....

True, although I thought that was a bit of a wind up.

Seems that we'll need a new striker, a midfield player and with Heitinga off (you'd imagine) two new center halves.

Call me pessimistic if you want...but I'm not sure we can afford all that without selling Fellaini.

oh yeah Fellaini's out the door.......thats just the way it has to be at Everton, sell 1 to bring in 3 or 4......as long as we don't lose Baines aswell, i don't mind too much....

Me neither.... and much as I'd like a Europa run.... so long as Moyes signs a new contract, I'd see positives in missing out for that too so long as the right teams (competition for top four4) get those places.

Lets not forget we have some talented players coming up too.

Seems Moyes has some cash to spend (even if it is the new TV money) and maybe Fellaini can bring in the sort of money that will have Moyes taking us onto the next level again... like he did with the Rooney money..

haha, the caps are just a way of expression mate, i'm not that angry, but its time for change, we need fresh ideas, positive thinking and a manager that is going to come in, has no allegiances and lets a few go, rather than Moyes continuously playing the same players that just aint cutting it anymore and not giving at least 2 or 3 of the youngsters a chance.

Well, I can see both sides.

I'm not sure the board will though. And I'm not sure Moyes won't be tempted to have another bash with the Fellaini money and what he failed to spend in the window. If looks to be more money than he's ever had before.

But timing is key in football. And maybe he's made one or two big calls that have cost him further down the line now for it to feel right that he moves on.

For me its about money. When he's had some he's done well enough with it. When he hasn't, he's tried some things and it hasn't worked out. I just feel he'll do well with whats going to come to him in the summer at Everton.

That said, we've given him a chance and its worked out... so who's to say the next bloke won't work out too.

But over all, I doubt anyone will do any better if I'm honest. If you look around at the clubs around us and how much they spend and pay.... you'd have to say Aston Villa are the closest to us in  those terms. I just can't see someone offering better news on the pitch for the money we spend... the reality for me is, unless things chance in football or at Everton, then there are going to be very tough times like these every now and then.
