Just thinking that. When Defoe went off I really thought WBA could do us a favour.

Annoying that. I thought WBA had actually reorganised quite well.

Sky spots... grrrr... "Spurs now breathing down the neck of Chelsea, with breathing room down to Everton and Arsenal"...

We're only 3 points behind 'em ffs!

Its not even a particularly good spurs team, that was a gift today........ 4th spot has never been more achievable, and we blow it against crap teams like Villa.....frustrating...

iwas **** off with the result yesterday but it about summed up the inconsistency of the prem, so many stupid results and so many more to come, its not just us who have fkd up spurs lost at home vs wigan and there will be more strange results with us included in that, we will pick up points we dont expect and drop points against teams we should beat easily as will the rest of the prem, i think games vs spurs and arsenal and the RS away will have a massive bearing on who will finish in the top 4 as all of us are as bad as each other for dropping points against the so called lesser teams, we lessened our chances of a top 4 finish by not improving in the transfer window, the last 2 seasons our good run of form after january has been down to freshening things up and bringing in players like donavon , pienaar and jelavic etc. were still capable if we find our form again and start playing the nice attacking football we played early on in the season. hopefully pienaar jelavic and osman can rediscover there early season form.

I think certain games are always key.....and yesterday was one of those games.....when you have a chance to move into the top 4 (even if for only 24 hours), you have to be up for it and make sure you win that game.....we couldn't have asked for better opposition yesterday......

Even before he got the red card, Popov looked awful.. he stood out quite a bit.  Looked very poor on the ball.

personal opinion - that was not a red card offense - the two were in a tussle and had an argument - Poppov gave a dismissive little spit as Walker walked away missing him by miles -
how can that be a red card ? same as punching in the air and missing someone by miles -
there is no clear indication that the spit was aimed purposefully in the direction of Walker nevermind hitting him -
i think WestBrom was Clattenburged -
last sending off for spitting was in 2004 Bolton i think -
spitting on the field has become fashionable (unfortunately) in the modern game -
bad decision = bad result for us

of course it was a red....he spat in the direction of another player, doesn't matter that he missed......its a disgusting thing to do by a player earning alot of money.....
He cost his team the match, if I were his manager I'd fine him heavily......
