I wonder at the end of this season how many owners and club chairmen will be looking at Everton with envy and asking their managers - why they want so much money? - why are they paying over the odds for players? - where are the results?
The financial bubble in football has to burst one day and I think our club will be the one to set the trend in the future. Get football back in the land of reality.
We don't need some unknown Arabs or Russians playing monopoly with our great club. We will do it the way it should be done and for the sake of the game.
I sometimes think this is always on DM's mind that he will do it the way it should be done. Let's face it, there is nobody out there doing a better job and I for one am proud to be an Evertonian with him as our manager. I also believe that BK is a traditional Chairman and works well with DM.
If all this seems a touch "old fashioned" then so be it - but I have supported Everton for over 50 years and cannot get my head round all this protesting, blue union, banner waving clowns -
Call yerself Evertonians - get behind your team and be proud of who we are and what we achieve year after year without the "pot of gold".

Fraid not - but if I was I think football in it's current state would be the last place i would invest my money.
I,m just a regular life long supporter who is dismaid at the state of our game behind the scenes.
I did not realise until I started this chat that we have even had our coaching staff tapped up by Chelsea, Shame on them!
Anyhow, 3 points tomorrow and we can crack open the asti ( can,t afford champagne in our situation).

John, i really admire your post and your opinion but unfortunately this isnt the world we live in today and it pains me to say it but our beloved game is now a business. In an ideal world all the teams would be on even finanvial terms and truly the best team would be the one with the best manager. You said we will do it the way it should be done. Well if its the way it is now then I am afraid you are very wrong.
I think these comments are typical views of fans from teams in this situation. But if in the event one day we get huge investment and challenging for the title ...picking up the odd cup etc . I dont think you will turn around and say ` i wish we could go back, before we had money and try to do it the right way`.
Money talks....and if it wasnt for DM we would have gone down years ago. Everyone wants success for EFC even if it means massive investment

i want an arab billionaire like citeh and have a chance of winning things, when the shoite hits the fan financially amongst prem clubs i dont think it will be citeh with a billionaire who will suffer.

Agree with john's post -- Faustian deals sound good at the time, but your soul is still forfeit. And what happens when the aforementioned billionaires from other parts get bored with their new toys? Oh wait, they change managers. I'm content with where we are at this point, and am convinced that the direction the club is taking is the right one. And screw the odds for tomorrow's match -- we did it to Citeh last year, and we have the capability to do it again. COYB, dammit!

    :-bd =D> =D>

Well said that man, unfortunately sir, the playing field is not level and we can only hope that after the pressure of these finacial climes will it once again become more so.

Although for that to happen i think there will be a massive financial implosion across the globe ! gulp !!

But out of the ashes will rise like a phoneix Everton Football club to conquer the premier league

Everton Champions again even the thought is giving me goosebumps :-D
