I hope Duffy isn't too upset, after all he has all the attributes Stones has.

Surely an established senior player would be more use at the moment.

John has played in every right sided defensive position, more recently as wing back. He was centre half at youth level but his first team opportunity came at right back and his pace suited that role. He is QUICK! He reads the game very well for a youngster and Flicker says he learns straight away, you only have to tell him once. It was thought he would eventually move to centre half but obviously, he's out grown us very quickly. He could even play a Michael Carrick midfield holding role, only with the ability to run. You've got a good one, but for the long term and he will need to be brought on at the right speed and be allowed to make the odd mistake - as he was at Barnsley. We were trying to put a loan back clause into the deal but I think your fellas have ruled that out. It would be a good idea though, in the best interests of the lad, then get ready to introduce him to the first team next season. All the best.
