Good to see an immediate response to clarify.

What does confuse me is that why has the PL done an agreement with Sky that means they pay after the Transfer window is closed? Surley if they paid July 1st (or atleast part of it) clubs could use the money when they need it. Instead all clubs have to take a short term loan to benefit from it?

Glad to see that the club is clearing up the finances! Don't care if we are not going to win the league in the next 5 years as long as the club is going to be financially safe for the long term!!!
P.S agree totally with mattod about the money from Sky and other TV companys!

IF we received 15m from arteta, yak and beckford, Why did the club mortgage the sky money.

cos they do it every year.

I presume the money from transfers has been ear marked to be spent, or some of it anyway and the money probably wasnt enough for the amount they were looking for.

yeah 15mill from player sales plus 15 mill on the mortgage = 30 million that clears 2/3rds of the debt (roughly). Unless the transfer money was kept to aside to give to moyse in the Jan window??? We will see

My point exactly, It wasnt needed.

they got the 15m they needed from player sales anyway, they have taken out the loan for no reason aswell as paying it back they will have to pay interest aswell.

    basically pi**ing money away.

and the other thing with that is if we already had the sky money, and we didnt really need the 10m from arteta, why the hell didnt moyes drive up the price say 15m or nothing.  it was a win win situation for us.  Either we got 15m or he stayed here (most fans would of been happy with this)

the funniest part was after the tranfer window, when people came on here saying it was a great transfer window for us

    :))

exactly so now as it stands they have basically taken out a loan they didnt need.

and as I said if we had that money why was arteta only sold for 10m, if he wanted to leave fair enough but that doesent explain why moyes didnt drive his price up as we expected him to.

Well given that Arteta had to take a pay cut to make the deal go thru, it's kind of obvious that Arsenal weren't prepared to spend any more on him. Really - if we'd forced him to stay which was the only other option, you'd be moaning that we have a player who doesn't want to be here and who'll be worth even less next year! You know you would!

We didn't know anyone was gonna be sold!
And who says we woudln't still have needed it with the banks taking a big slice of the transfer money recieved if not ALL of it?

no chance in hell would the banks want that much.  he also had the money from bellefield, aswell as pienaar, yak, arteta, beckfords wages off the books, aswell as 15m from player sales, money from sky.

how much money does kenright need.  Somethings going on here that the fans dont know about, YOu dont need that much money to make the debts sustainable again infact you can clear most of it with that sort of money.  you can see why fans have started protesting against him.

No he had the sale of Bellfield and Pienaar's wages off the wage bill and about £4 Milion to £4.5 Million from player sales (£3 Million from Pienaar and an initial £1 Million or £1.5 Million for Vaughan) and had Yak and Yobo back on the wage bill and still had Arteta and Beckford on the books and the intention of adding a couple even if Arteta wasn't sold - and no money yet from Sky!

We also had increases in the wage bill for new contracts to several other players not included in the last set of accounts released - and less income to pay it! It's not complicated!

and he hasn't "mortgaged" the sky money ..he's basically re-financed a loan...ie consolidated
an original loans in to one repayment.....basi

stupid laptop crashed before i'd finished then !! it's basically a bridging loan until the money comes in..something like this would take a couple of weeks to organise...they obviously never foresaw the arteta transfer !!!
