We all moan and groan about Moyes, myself included but if we all take a step back we can see what a fantastic job he has done.Take the top-four out of the equasion and could we really have done much better?
Maybe we should/could have won a cup but that is the only thing missing from his achievements at Everton is that elusive trophy.

Do i think that its an all or nothing season? I can see where you are coming from but i have to say NO,why?  because i remember 2004 season when against all odds we finished 4th and what happened? For whatever reason,Moyes wasnt given cash to strengthen the team for Champions League quality. In fact it was an embarrassment! We got hammered 5-0 against Bucharest and afterward made me think,"Whats the point when theres no investment?

Look at Man City, failed to qualify from group stages with their talented squad! Where would it leave us if we do finish 4th this season? Would Moyes suddenly be given the needed 50 million+ required to compete? I very much doubt it without new investment.Personally unless a Russian/Dubai businessman is ready to invest in us then i think we would be better off finishing 5th and then slowly progress financially until we are ready to compete. If you look at the prem currently their are teams much wealthier than us who regularly outspend us,teams such as Stoke even are better off to cope financially to compete for the quality of player required.

The Europa League would be much easier to qualify to the latter stages, albeing still a difficult competition to win.I know there is no real prize money but i loved that night against Fiorentina@ goodison and we still found it hard to cope away from home against the better teams.

We have got as good a chance as any of winning the FA CUP.Imagine if we win the cup, finish 5th,would that mean if Reds finish 6th we give them a place in europe?

Where would that scenario leave Moyes? He would be in a great position especially if alot of top jobs are available.
Maybe that would bring in a new ere at Everton, whatever the outcome lets make the most of the position we find ourselves in!

it is not an all or nothing season, however we should be looking for a top four spot. 2004 was totally different,we had no playing assets(felli, baines) so could not afford to strenghten the squad without taking a massive gamble. this time we can and the board have shown that by finding the 8.6million for FER.
