    Denis & Vellios to start

If saha has apologised and excepted a heavy fine, i'd stick him on the bench, maybe give him 20 mins.....

I would love to see Saha to start with Strac and Velios in as a sub for Saha later.

If it were a rubbish team I would rest Baines but we need him so I would go for what Sydenko put, although it seems harsh not playing Vellios after he scored.

Saha won't be fully fit so what's the point in starting him? I would go 4 4 2 with Vellios and Stracqualursi, I don't think Stracqualursi would be much use in a 4 5 1.

I just don't think it would be fair to give the lad his first ever start in England in a 4 5 1. He seems to me like the sort of player that would benefit from playing up front with someone.  I don't think any of or forwards would be of much use in a 4 5 1 anyway.

i think if we are playing 4-5-1 we need somebody big and tall upfront, who can hold the ball up and play the wingers in and to look for flick ons with cahill and the wingers looking to get in behind. I think the straq could do this job.

Stracqualursi looks like a player that will win flick ons to the player that he would play up front with. I would play 4 4 2 every home game and most away games. The only time I wouldn't play two strikers would be away at one of the big 6 teams.

i threw ball to the strikers heads would be a welcome break from everything going down the sides.

i think peopel get a bit carried away with 4-4-2 working against the teams outside of the top 6. For a start with they nearly all play 3 midfielders infront of the back 4, and that would almost over run our midfielder imo, theres a reason that moyes sticks to 4-5-1, and that is probably it tbh, i think the way round it is to play proper widemen, and look to stretch the fullbacks and then pack the area with either rodwell or felli, and the striker and cahill, with rodders or felli lurking around the edge of the box to either get back and snuff out danger on the counter or look to pick up any loose balls and have shots or spread the play out wide again. now we have to big lads in vellios and straq and timmy so good wih his head, this is the way we should be looking to play imo. its why beattie was crap for us, he relished that sort of play but we never delivered it for him.

Moyes sticks with 4 5 1 because he is stubborn, cautious and will never drop Tim Cahill! I think that 3-1 flattered us at the weekend, and it wasn't until we played two recognised strikers that we started to look dangerous, before that we had nothing. It was the same against QPR, we played 4 5 1 and in truth, we never looked like scoring. Away to City, Chelsea, Liverpool and Man U, I would be happy with a point, but at home to teams like QPR and Wigan, we should go for the win.

Mate, trust me, its not cos he is stubborn, its cos he thinks and feels its the right thing to do. Mark my words if we played 4-4-2 and got beat 2-1 at home by wolves then by stoke and west brom on the bounce, everyone would be saying it isnt working!!! In all fairness, 4-5-1 its more like 4-4-1-1 so we have the benefit of an extra midfielder and a striker when needed, but people percieve it as 4-5-1 which is more defensive than 4-4-1-1 imo. We dont play with 3 holding infront of the back 4 like wigan did on saturday, and most other teams do aswell, thats why you have to counter it by laying 4-4-1-1 so there is cover there if they counter attack, otherwise you could jsut end up swamped.
