sorry , but i don;t think he played any worse than a number of players last night. He is getting into the positions to score, it just isnt quite happening for him. I;ve said it before, i will say it again, its probably a bit of second season syndrome, a bit of confidence is lacking, but if he keeps getting into the positions he is doing, he will get the goals and they will start flowing.

If you can;t see that, go support AFC Wimbledon or something.

Agreed. That miss can only be put down to confidence. He was not a stand out dissapointment last night, in fact there was only 1 or 2 players who played well. I put a post about him last night because with him being our furthest man forward I would like to see less of him on the touchline, who that is down to I dont know. Hopefully he can grab a goal or two at Bolton and kick on from there as we have some BIG games coming up

I don't think the approach to the first half suited us, they pressed high and forced us to go long. That isn't always a problem for us as he and Fellaini can usually work in tandem and establish control of the ball and begin to build in the oppositions final third, they weren't allowed to do that last night. Let's not forget there were two teams out there last night in the first half they were so full of running we never got time to settle, Puncheon was perpetual motion personified, on the ball and play the interchanging football that opened them up in the second half. I do blame Howard a little for the amount of long balls as the amount of times he had an out ball but went long had me reminding him it wasn't american football!

It's football you won't be the best on the pitch for the 90 minutes as proved when we bossed the second half as their motors had faded a little. I would also say Schneirdlin was absolutely immense for them even in the second half he had so many key tackles and interceptions.

i'm still a big fan of Jelavic.....but his lack of confidence is becoming a problem now.....he can't keep missing chances like last night......end of the day, his job is to score goals.....i'd much prefer he did nothing outside the box, but scored every game....
another problem with Jelavic lately is the amount of times he's offside (which again i think is down to lack of confidence), but it breaks up our forward play alot.....

last night was the first sign that Moyes is losing faith with him.......not totally, but Jelavic is no longer an untouchable......be interesting to see if Moyes starts him against Bolton......

personally, i'd take him out for a couple of games, an introduce him as a second half sub...he'll be fresher, and maybe might sneek a few goals that will bring his confidence back....

i said exactly that in the first half mate, i thought if we weathered the storm and got in 0-0 at half time then they would tire, they put so much into the first half you knew it was going to happen and it was a case of us picking them off second half. Just those chances that fell to JELLY, MIRRALLAS AND VIC that should probably have been stuck away, didn't go in, just one of those things.....

thought Felli's cahnce was the best........Jelavic's chance , to be fair to him, wasn't as easy as it looked (thought Vic could have played the ball more infront of him....it was just the way he swung and missed it.......said it all about his confidence levels....

i thought Jelly could have taken a touch mate and smashed it home, i think he is thinking in his head, if he can get a one touch goal his confidence will come flooding back......as for Felli etc, players missed chances as good as Jela's last night, but nobody is barracking them about it........there's nothign wrong with a midfielder popping up to win the game......they are there to do that also...

Well if it's a confidence thing then subbing him straight after that miss isn't going to help.

i agree mate, i thought that was worst thing he could have done, i would have taken Naismith off and put Kev down the right wing

thought Vic was unlucky....great save from the keeper
Mirallas was just abit rusty....but i liked the run he made, and the control to set up the shot.....great to have him back....

I think Mirallas will be a big player for us.

I think we should rest Jelavic for a few games now and give Big Vic or Vellios a run out. I think being on the bench will give him his hunger back.

Jelavic will come good, he is class. Just going through a confidence thing now, the goals will come.

He was never gonna finish any chance last night after that miss. I wanted him off.

Well I_fucking didn't! I had a tenner on an Everton wincast with Jelavic scoring anytime.
