Who would you play up front against City

Although we did not play well it was good to get the 3 points.

I was very impressed with the new signings and although Denis Stracqualursi did not get much time showed that he has got good potential. Vellios also showed he has potential and deserves more playing time.

I don't see Moyes going with 2 upfront and personally feel we have better options than Cahill as lone striker especially after yesterday's game.

Saha has got great quality and I would probably start with him for 2 reasons.

1 I would look to sell him in January and if he can show his potential we might get a good return knowing there will be another injury around the corner.
2 It will be a tough game to make a full debut and would not want to damage confidence of either of them.

I would however start with Drenthe who could make the differance for us and keep the winning going against City.

vellios or denis with cahill behind we need more power vs the better teams and would bring barkley in for coleman, hes got much better quality on the ball, need something different to unlock the better teams.

I would go 4 5 1 against them, I think I would put Cahill up there.

Cahill has a great record playing this opposition in this venue!

We'll definately need a 5 man midfield against this lot so I would play Cahill ina deeper role - just to make a nuisance of himself. I'll reserve judgement on who should play ahead of Cahill until I see what happens in the WBA game where we'll hopefully see a bit more of Dennis and/or Vellios!

have to hope city have an off day, and just play cahill upfront, and put on velios in the second half.

although I think mancini will have learnt his lesson from last time, and will play a very attacking team, and try and get 2 or 3 goals in the first half to kill off the game.  wouldnt surprise me if he went with 3 strikers up front and also mean baines is going to do his defensive futies and not just rely on distin to cover him.

4-5-1 and Moyes fine tuning tactics and it doesn't matter how City play, we can beat them.

Would like to see us go at City, with Coleman and Drenthe on either wing, Fellaini and Rodwell in the middle, with Saha upfront and Cahill in behind... And Hibbert not Neville at right back on a more cautionary note.

With Vellios and Denis to come off the bench if/when needed and Billy to cover Drenthe... or even Cahill in behind the striker if needed.

Hopefully we can give them a good go, to be honest it looks a better prospect now after the Fulham result.

These are one of the those occasions we should go 4-5-1, with a recognised striker up front. Just hope Moyes doesnt decide to park the bus and hope for a draw, with Cahill up front. Weve got some momentum lets give it a go.

I think parking the bus against a team who has scored 17 goals in their 5 games would be a suicidal tactic. (Altho I think its a stupid tactic ALL the time)
But they haven't conceeded at home yet in the PL.
There will be long periods where we will have to defend deep with 9/10 men behind the ball - but that shouldn't be seen as us going there with the intention of parking the bus!

i think moyes will play same team, maybe without billy, cant really see him dropping cahill or osman can you ? cant see osman dropping back into midfield same with cahill.

Cahill's record against City means he has to be in the team.

Cahill for 30mins, then Saha. Then Vellios for 30mins, then Stracqualursi.

Why not play the both Vellios and Stracqualursi with Cole man on the right and Dutch lad on the left from the start!

Just requires the right blend in the central midfield to support this attacking formation, DM can always revert to the 4-5-1 if required.
