So, we NEVER divulge contract information but there IS a buyout clause. Fantastic journalism there.

Its the ginge or the fro.... they haven't the cash for both.

You can dream milky.....although it is a touch odd that Moyes recently talked about wanting to manage in Germany one day.... and then this link comes out. Its either nailed on or the press just make up anything on the scantest of comments any manager makes....

First they say its 22m.....then they say its higher than 22m, but they don't know the figure.....f#cking wankers, they're happily stirring shlt in the hope it effects for results.....

Bit of a disaster though that were gonna lose him on the cheap........

I wonder does saurez have a buy-out clause.....bet the BBC won't be as happy to report that.....

Why the **** would he sign a big extension a year ago just to leave? Everton would be stupid to sell him.

To be honest.... Moyes doesn't tie up 15 million of Everton's transfer budget on a lanky Belgian holding midfield player (then) with a silly hair cut without expecting to get it all back and more.

From the day he was bought he was going to be sold.

    I'm not convinced either.

But I also think the BBC are out of order here. They are stating outright that he has a release clause while stating that Everton won't discuss the matter.

Isn't that a bit like saying Everton won't talk about this issue so we can say whatever we like about it without fear of being proved wrong.

One thing though. If there wasn't as release clause, would Everton not come out and say so.

Maybe there is and its 27million... If Everton want to cash in, and Moyes does sometimes cash in, it might be in our interests to spread a false rumour about a lower clause to drum up some interest. Afterall, you only know if your in the champions league at the end of the season.

Oh i'd say the reports of a release clause are correct....if there was no release clause, then Everton would have made a comment long ago (this isn't a new rumour)....question is, how much over £22m is it......and why are the media reporting £22m anyways..if they know the actual figure, why not just announce that......

what the media (who want Liverpool or Arsenal to finish 4th) are doing now is simple, they're trying to unsettle our club, and derail our champions league push.....they're even geting other opposition managers to publically comment about signing our star player, how f*cking disrepectful to us......

Well it appears to be working. Fellaini was quoted though saying he does want to move "forward" in the future but will finish out his contract. Why would he leave now with the team doing this well? I'm not sure I believe the hype. He can always leave in 2 years or so to see if we can make the Champs League and then he can participate with Everton. I really don't know why everyone (the media) acts like he's gone when Everton are in 5th place and have absolutely no **** reason to get rid of him.

When the release clause was first mentioned several months ago, £24 Million and £26 Million were the figures I saw quoted

I imagine he had no problem signing the new contract as long as the release clause was put in. This meant he got a nice pay rise and knew that if a big club came in for him he could leave easily.

He had us over a barrel as if we didnt put the release clause in he would just run his contract down and we get relatively little for him or would be forced to sell earlier and still probably make a loss as his agent would make it very well known he was available.

It's player power these days and everton won't have a choice whether they sell him or not
