Next seasons european adventure?

    Right say we don't get top 4 and we do qualify for uefa is that a good thing for us as a team? We have a small squad and money for uefa ain't good at all think its worth 1.5mill to qualify from group stage. Yes its good exposure to the club as we'll get more tv revenue but will our squad as it is be able to deal with the rigours of thursday and monday games. Look at newcastle, they qualified and are having problems now. I'm excited about the prospect of any kind of european football and want to qualify for champions league but if that fails I still want uefa cup. My biggest worry is will our league form suffer from a uefa participation? Or will it be the making or the chance some of youth to be given a chance? My personal view is I want european football, obviously champions league is the 1 but I would take the uefa even though it would stretch our squad to the limit. Interested to know other peoples opinions please

    The only European adventure we'll get next season is if the German's get above their station again.

    know your saying but if we did get uefa would this be seen as a platform for vellios, barkley, duffy and maybe the likes of hope and green? We all know moyes won't risk them much in prem so it could be a way for them to impress and get into prem squads

    Relaisitically I cant see us topping tottenham and chelsea, so Europa league is the best we can hope for. I personall would welcome another night like fiorentina at Goodison and if players our playing just in the league and english cups they will get bored and probably look at a move

    Great for the extra tv coverage as well? The more we're on tv the more lucrative sponsoship and and kit deals we can get!

    Europa League football is for also rans and fans that don't understand what a drain it is on clubs with limited resources.

    I'd rather finish 6/7th.

    I think anyone who doesnt want european footy for their club, weather it be europa or champs league is a mug. Just think all you armchair fans could actually get to a game on itv4 or channel 5.

    i think if they get rid of the europa altogether (which has been talked about) and enlarge the champions league (like they have talked about), it will be better for teams all round imo :)

    I'm in 2 minds about how we'd handle it. We did ok before but maybe had a bit of luck picking up points in Sunday games after the Thursday's....if my memory serves me right

    agree mate, i think even the CL is going a bit stale cos its nearly all the same teams each year.....dont get me wrong, watchign Barca vs Bayern for example is great, but every year, it wears a bit thin

    @Beano

    We don't have the squad. If we played the likes of Nev with kids and no PL first teamers then fair enough in the EL, but not at the expense of PL position, imo.

    It's all about the kids and future turnover these days though. They couldn't give a toss what we think.

    Beano look at this from our teams point of view. Do WE as a team have the strength in depth as a squad to cope with the uefa? If we played our 1st 11 all the time and injuries and tiredness wasn't a factor we'd be laughing. But we as a club always get our fair share of injuries and if you look at our bench for some of our prem games we don't have great stength in depth. Newcastle as a team are better than the league position they find themselves in if you ask me but the toll on the uefa has paid part in the teams league performances
