I recall when we were constantly fighting relegation, the Villa fans I knew during the Dwight Yorke days, were quite happy for us to go down whilst they were in our position now. I'd love to see the looks on their faces.

Quick ?, what are the "tie-breakers" when all being equal, 2 or 3 clubs are tied in points? I'm assuming wins are the first stat, but what are the others, say 2-3?

first is goal difference (goals scored minus goals conceeded)

    then head to head results

    -Points
    -Goal difference
-If goal difference is equal, the team who has scored more (but conceded more too) is in front.
-If goals scored is equal, it goes by head to head results.
-If head to head is equal (for the title) a match will be played to decide the winner.

But if it's more than 2 clubs who are level on points, goal difference and goals scored (unlikely), the head-to-head results are likely to be mutually exclusive. So unless they're tied in a position of significance, they'll just share the cumulative prize money for the 3 positions split equally.

important that we keep our goal difference similar to if not better than the team just below and jsut above us then mate if that makes sense?

We actually played them off the park last season when I was at the match. Should have won by more than 2 goals. Will be a bit tougher this year though. Would love to welcome the FSW Rafa back to Goodison with a thumping. Ah sure we'll see!

It's a weird tiebreaker system for sure over there. I would think the win column would be the most important tie breaker, not goal differential. It's the most "fair" way I think. But I'm used to the goal differential now, just rewards teams who are high scoring.
