Finally got round to watching the Khan fight......

    Was ok.

    Beat a kid that was obvious to see that he was physically smaller than Khan.

    Still same old story of chin high, letting his shots go then standing still for that split second longer than what he needs to. Against a bigger puncher last night he would have been shook to his boots on occasion.

    There is time with his trainer to change things though, he wants to be looking at 2 or 3 fights against fighters that are ranked outside of the top 8 in the world imo and build himself back up slowly.

    Saw it, did ok but as you say Sam wide open at times and he did look either hesitant or over doing the game plan at times, in other words over careful, coz he was understandably very nervous( had to win )......

    Amir changed from Freddie Roach says it all... bad workman... He did not look like he had learned anything last night... even till the end there was a chance Molina could have caught that chin...

    Yes mate, i agree, the chin isn;t so bad, he just doesnt think to get him self out of the positions where it is going to get whacked...

    You can only beat what's in front of you but he was handed a very winnable fight were all the stats except for the lads "0" were in Khan's favour. He got tagged early doors but you have to give him some latitude given it was only a 8 week camp with his new trainer, the fact he was getting tagged with single shots near the end was typical Khan, he smelt blood and hadn't been hurt earlier in the fight when the exchanges were fresh and he went for the kill. A long way to go but i'm glad he took that in his stride and gets a chance at redeeming himself if he can become a three time world champion by the time he is 27/28 it is great for British boxing, just wish he'd shut up though!

    Did anyone catch Donaire, he was chillingly violent in his destruction of his "dear friend" Arce who he put into retirement, he's nailed his place on my one to watch list for next year

    Donaire is the next superstar, been keeping tabs on him for the last 2-3 years, the guy has real quality. Him and Adrien Broner are the future of boxing.......

    I agree with Khan, its good for British boxing, but, i find it really hard to like the lad, he doesn't sell himself very well and just comes across a bit cocky and arrogant....i know Mayweather does the same, but, he talks a BETTER fight than what Khan does. I think he needs 2 or 3 fights next year, stepping up each time and maybe fighting for a world title back end of next year.......the thing will always be there though that he is one punch away from getting knocked out again.....i dont think he can help himself from getting involved in stuff he doesn't need to. Maybe Virgil Hunter can coach some of his silly mistakes out of him, so the next year will be a crucial time in his development. I do fear though that after 3 or 4 fights he will jsut got back to type, and do it his way, im starting to think that every 4 or 5 fights Khan wants to be looking at a new trainer as it seems his mind starts wandering from the task at hand and i reckon changing trainers often will keep him more focused. Just my opinion of course.

    amir khan's performance was extremely impressive.  he completely dominated the fight and looked top class at times.  i don't think he is getting enough credit for his performance

    the only problem is that the opposition wasn't of much standard which takes the gloss off the performance.  molina was smaller, only had 17 fights, not much of a puncher and hadn't fought anybody of any note before khan.  therefore you'd expect khan to take him apart

    khan definately made a lot of his old mistakes and was getting caught flush quite a lot.  if that was against a better opponent he could have been ko'd again.  having said that though he has only been with virgil hunter for 8 weeks and you can't completely change bad habits overnight.  also i definatley seen something new from khan so hunters work is paying off a bit

    saying he'd ko garcia was stupid but again its probably just bad habits.  he just blurts things out and sometimes you cant help that

    you've just completely contradicted yourself, you say it was impressive, then you give a whole load of reasons why it wasn't in the next 2 paragraphs.

    it was an impressive performance full stop.  the opposition was poor but the performance was impressive.  he made a lot of his old mistakes but the performance was still impressive

    in spite of the poor opposition and mistakes the over all performance was EXTRMELY impressive. 

    simple. no contradiction
