    Well hold on to yer seat... It sometimes gets rough through the next stage... Hostile tone of lower middle management... Always best to make a note of what they say and how they say it... He'll be the one you use as leverage to hammer your point home and get more compo...

    You have to remain calm... Their usual tactic is to be patronising and spout the same BS as you've had already but in an authoritative manner... like if he's saying it in person then it must be right... They will want you to get angry because then they can twist it around and say you aren't the customer they want.. you are abusive... and they do not wish to deal with someone who is threatening...

    Stay calm... write down names and times... This all gets thrown back at them... because I assure you they wont keep a record of how many times or how long you've been held for... and what's been said...

    Once they have expended their shlt.. you calmly ask them to be transferred to their manager... this will really upset them... savour it... tell them they haven't added anything and you need to talk to someone higher up...

    ps - handy tip when you are making any consumer complaint. That thing you feel, the emotional drain, it doesn't really have a figure attached to it, so most companies will offer you very little on top of refunding or paying out.  If you keep a record of all of the time you have spent dealing with them and multiply it by national minimum wage... you can tell them there is a financial cost that you've incurred in dealing with their breach of contract... Orange and HSBC hate me...
