This is something that i don't think American producers/execs get, and ours are going down the same lines. If you want something to take off, even a remake, you need talented relatively unknown actors that people will connect with. Maybe it's just me but if an actor is from a series i've watched, they'll have to be an acting god be anyone but that character.

I genuinely dont see the point in even trying to remake a comedy/sitcom... Unless its made in the same country and years later...

I'm a friends fan, but who of the cast were famous prior to it's release? There were 6 six of them and only one of them was a good actor; Lisa Kudrow, and she was the most annoying character in it, for me anyway. Matthew Perry has great comic timing but he's no actor imo. They were all pretty much unknown before friends so, with the aid of a good framework (for its time), a lot of people connected. Some actors are good enough to do numerous thing, but not many.

I can't stand Hannigan in it. BBT is good, although i knew Kaley Cuoco from a her first acting job (there are in jokes in BBT that reference it that yanks would get) and there are 3 from Rosanne. They did very well to pull that off, although Chuck Lorre is legendary at that kind of thing, Sheldon is what really made it.

Cuoco's past is family comedy oriented unfortunately. The lead actor (John Ritter) died irl and it stopped not long after that. I remember Blossom as a series on C4 but never really watched it.

I didn't say i didn't like them, just that actors are over used because of the focus on familiarity equaling viewers resulting in money.

The comment about liking us sitcoms was more to do with my own insecurity about admitting such than anything you said...

I'd never have said this before regarding ANYTHING, but you've had too much education. :-))
