I have to say I'm getting a bit annoyed at goodison when we don't sing enough. The lower gwladys is great that's where my season ticket is but apart from this stand and the park end the rest of the stadium is like a library. What's wrong with you all? is it not a big enough occasion? do you only feel up for singing when we're winning against the rs and the mancs and when we get to quarter finals? Come on this is everton make the players want to play football, make them feel like we love them and make them want to play to the best of their ability. Get Goodison rocking!
I was wondering whether the issue is because mostly older fans can afford to go and the younger fans who like to sing cant afford it.

My last few visits have been poor.

Quiet all around the stadium except for a few bursts of song.

Feel if the crowd can get behind the team it would surely give them a boost

True, but if the team give us something to shout about that will give us a boost.

They have more than 30,000 fans who pay money to watch them play. If they can give us something to shout about I am sure the fans will be in full voice.

the last few times 've been the crowd are in full voice untilkick off and then it all goes quiet.

The fans need to support the team for longer than that.

After 10 minutes there's normally frustration being vented rather than support

I agree that they need our support, but these are professional footballers who get paid good money for what they do. I don't mind Everton losing if they have a good go, but sometimes they embarrass themselves such as the game against QPR or the games against West Brom and Reading last season. We do need to support the team obviously but the players have to give us something to shout about.

I can't disagree but sometimes encouragement is more helpful than getting on the players back.

did you ever go to school? you appear to have made numerous spelling mistakes that a ten year old could correct. The slang word prolly and wat are forgivable, but to have an e in "during" is just embarrassing!

its been the same for years we wait for the team to make us sing instead of us makeing the team play...its like a morgue half the time 38 thousend nervous people bite'n finger nails and that filters onto the pitch.

I agree that we should give the team our full support but the team have to give us something to shout about. If the fans can see the players giving 100% for the club the the fans will be lifted, but how can we sing for players like Anichebe or Bily?

simple fact is that if the fans sing the players respond. as much as you might point to logical things like the fact that the players are paid to do a job it doesnt quite work that way.

I was quite embarrassed when I took me missus (an irish bird who has lived in brum and watched Birmingham city in the past) and she said, "Oh, they're quite quiet arent they"!!!! Not as quiet as Villa she said but then Villa just dont speak - think theyre actually intelligent enough to be embarrassed by their accents!!!

We play very well at home to Villa and the atmosphere is superb, we are poor and lose at home to QPR and the stadium is quiet. Its not complicated is it? At home to Liverpool, Spurs, Chelsea, Man City, Man United last season, Goodison was very loud, and guess what, the team gave us something to shout about. Home to Reading, Newcastle and WBA last season, the ground is a bit quiet, and guess what, we lost them games and the team gave us nothing to shout about.

We should go to the match and support the team every week, of course we should. But the players on the pitch are the ones create an atmosphere. If they don't look bothered then the fans won't look bothered. But if they work hard and play well, the fans will make noise and they will be lifted by the players on the pitch. The fans pay good money to watch these people play and when they play, and its the players who are expected to give 100% when they cross that white line.

Agree blue. Few years ago they were callin it Fortress Goodison. The proper old ground that away teams feared. We own that place when we sing. Nobody is havin an easy day when 40k toffees are screamin their lungs out for the blues!

The atmosphere at the Villa game was excellent to be fair.
