I'm not sure if this has been posted already, but ti would be a fantastic move for both parties. He's a free agent and a quality keeper that has just lost his form at the moment. Under Moyes he'll get back on track and provide competition with Howard....and he's a far better back-up than Jan Mucha (who has even stated he wanted to leave)

    What do you think?

I fear he is a free agent for a reason...

Something needs to be done, Howard needs a good kick up the ****.......if i were Moyes I'd be looking for a new first choice keeper in January, not just a decent second choice to keep Howard on his toes....

Doesnt quite measure up... I watched out for him when he went to Sunderland for silly money... And never saw anything to indicate that he was good enough...

I said this in the summer and got shot down as he apparently hasn't been the same player since his injuries. I don't know if it's a confidence thing or not but he used to be a very good keeper and if he could get back to his previous standard he would be great as back up, but if it hasn't happened up to now i would be surprised if it did now

I watched Craig build his reputation up in Scotland , and When his transfer went through the fee , although raised an eye brow or two ,I could see the potential and firmly believe he has all the attributes

As of why he is still a free agent, the mind boggles, clearly he has had a terrible run of luck withn injuries

Howard has been on his day the best keeper since Southall, sorry Nige

but he is definetly suffering too at present,

I would welcome the challenge of a fit a firing Gordon to take up the running for the number 1 Jersey

    May the best man win..

Before he moved to Sunderland he was a highly regarded keeper, good in the air, and a great shot stopper. No idea what happened to him at Sunderland, maybe it was the big transfer fee and the pressure that came with it got to him. They probably released him because he was backup and on massive wages.

Well we need to do something, Howard is all over the shop right now.
And let's be honest, Mucha isn't good enough to tie Vic's shoelaces, and that's saying something........

Makes you wonder how much truth there was in the Jack Butland transfer and if we will go in for him this jan, or if it was something instigated by Moyes/Kenwright to give Howard a kick up the @rse. in a kind of "we cant afford a new keeper but lets make Howard think we're on the look out for one and maybe keep him on his toes for the start of the season"

still prefer Butland over Gordon but any money we have left needs to go elsewhere (my suggestion being right back)

Howard us having a poor season, do a bit of competition could be good for him. I think he's a very good keeper so I would be happy if he signed.

Jacko's right, he is a very good keeper who had awful injuries at Sunderland, and any keeper who has bad injuries, it takes longer than a player to gain your confidence back as there are no hiding places for a keeper. If he keeps fit and gets his confidence back then yes he's an excellent keeper, but of course its a big IF...

I believe Ruddy is a good keeper, may be he would forgive and forget!!!
