A quick coaching question!

Okay, we all have our own ideas about who was at fault for many of the goals we concede e.g. that Seamus Coleman was reckless when his challenge gave away the penalty on Saturday. I'm sure there are many posters on the Blueroom who have a lot of coaching experience at various levels so I want to hear what advice you would give to Seamus as to how he should have dealt with Le Fondre's run for the first goal. I've only seen it a few times, but it seems to me that there were a number of players to Le Fondre's right so it would have been impossible to go on that side, and that Le Fondre made his run at the perfect time to get ahead of his marker and get his head to the ball first.

If you were a coach at EFC what would you be telling Coleman about how to prevent this happening again?

Could Coleman have done much more to prevent this well-timed run meeting a perfectly delivered pass, or should the taller centre halves have made more of an effort to challenge in that area of the pitch? Was the ball too far out for Tim Howard to be involved?

I'm just interested in the best tactics to use for this kind of play, so let's hear some ideas!

Need to start usin' the "punch in the back of the 'ead defence" like...

That's one option Idi but that sounds like something that the lot across the park would have in their coaching manual so I don't think Moyesy would have that. Any other ideas?

From what I saw... you've basically got to beat 15+ years GAA out of him...

There was definitely a bit of GAA in the challenge that gave away the penalty but what about the first one, OGV?
I'm just wondering if we've been a bit unfair to Coleman as I'm not sure what he should have done!
