    The Americans support the Israelis for obvious reasons (even though they feign neutrality & want peace in the Middle East blah blah). Very fine line between loyalty to the one of the largest Jewish populations in the world & keeping the Arabs happy because of oil.

    And when you know you have the backing of the U S of A, then why wouldn't you chuck your weight around.

    Personally I think it's like most disputes. Each has their own story to tell. But in this particular dispute it depends on who's backing you up or how much use you are. And as always allegiance is entirely self-serving.

    Well I do recall Nostredamus predicting a catastrophic world event would emanate from that region.

    Unfortunately for you & I we will be beholden to the powers (and greed) that be.

    We are sitting ducks.....and not quite as well cared for as some ducks on here!

    But on the positive side.........Gibson may be back. The Lord moves in mysterious ways.

    The Palestinians need to rise up and over throw Hezbollah imo. The everyday common person whether it be man/woman and child doesn't want a conflict with Israel but Hezbollah wont let it go, so they are putting their own people in danger, they are not going to get the middle east to rise up against the west so their efforts are futile and all they are doing is suicide really against their own. F_ucking idiots. 

    As for Israel, its not good, especially when its women and children, BUT, people are for the war in afghan and/or iraq and plenty of civilians will have been killed their, but cos its Israel and not GB OR the USA going into potential war all of a sudden its wrong? Israel have the right to flex their military muscle just as the west have.

    Sam lad, you could say the same about the Iraq situation in the UK. Or Afghanistan. The everyday UK citizen didn't want it either. But we had it thrust upon us (legal or not). You didn't really have much say in the matter.

    We, as citizens, are not for war, our politicians that we vote for do that. And we still kiss the **** of the Americans. Make no mistake......the Americans will support the Israelis no matter what. Because a lot of their votes depend on it.

    It's a war that no-one is going to win, but a lot of people are going to be hurt (or killed) in the process.

    I completely agree, so the Israeli government have as much right to do it as our and the AMerican government have/had. 

    I know the Americans will support the Israeli's, i've changed my views over the years, and become more mellow in what i think/feel about conflicts around the world, but if the Taliban can get it, there should be ne reason why Hezbollah can't either.

    I use to believe it was all Israel's fault.. The ancient Jews where there first. The Palestinians are not an ancient people, they got their name from the old biblical name for that area and have no legitimate right to that land. Israel is defending itself from people who want to destroy it. Do you think Israel just started to attack them for no reason? 

    There is a saying that if the Palestinians put down their weapons there would be peace but if the Israelis put down their weapons, Israel would be destroyed. Palestinians are hell bent on destroying Israel. 

    It's terrible kids are being killed but Palestinians should not be hiding their weapons under buildings. Israel are not trying to kill kids.
