SAHA : Born: 08/08/1978 : 33 yrs old. His injury problems arent going to improve. he's practically unsellable now.DISTIN : Born: 16/12/1977 : 34 yrs old. done a great job, but he's not going to be around too much longer.CAHILL: Born: 06/12/1979 : 32 yrs old. again, reaching the end of the line plus he would like to get back to oz.NEV: Born: 21/01/1977 : 34 yrs old. been a great signing. how many more seasons? one!HOWARD: Born: 06/03/1979 : 32 yrs old. goalies last longer so no hurry here.have we got any lads coming thru, or do we have to try and buy?

The only ones capable for starting line up places for me, are Rodwell, Coleman (but not at RB), Vellios, Gueye (no idea what his strongest position is), Barkley and I suppose you could still count Fellaini as a younger player.
Neville is easily past it by now, when I saw the QPR game, he looked as though he was operating 50x slower than everyone else on the pitch, and he's reverted back to his usual long ball smack up at Cahill, which gives posession away. I know we'll find it hard replacing his leadership qualities, but the fact is, he shouldn't be playing. When we played gorgeous football a few seasons ago, even Nevill was keeping it on the deck, but these days he just smacks it.
Distin, for me, has never been a good enough replacement for the defence that contained Yobo/Jags and CB, and to an extent, Lescott. I don't understand what Yobo has done to fall so out of favour, but to me, he's still better than Distin is, and don't give me the 'Yobo is prone to mistakes' stuff, because we've seen more than enough that Distin is too.
Saha, good player when he can be arsed. Personally, I feel he's a bit like Yakubu, but once again, Moyes reluctance to move away from a 4-5-1 never really gave him (or Beckford) a chance, as the only strikers we had before this transfer window who could play that position were Yak, and Vellios (and apparently Vellios wasn't ready). I'll wait to reserve judgement on Denis.
I'd like to see Drenthe here permanently if he plays well, but will have to wait and see about that. I think Cahill still has another 3 years in him, he still seems fit, and more importantly, defenders think he's a pain in the ****.
I think the most important thing for our team going forward, is for Moyes to drop the stupid 4-5-1, it's too easy to play against nowadays, you either need to play 4-4-2, 4-3-3, or 4-1-2-2-1 (midfielders shaped like a V). 4-5-1 is far too negative, and we struggle when we play teams playing the same formation. I would be happy if we played it against the top 4, and at tricky away games, but against QPR at home? Give me a break.
