im fed up with this. What have we got to do to beat this mediocre side? i have virtually come to the stage where i honestly believe we are incapable of beating 'the mighty liverpool fc'. My head is completely battered trying to fathom out what we have to do to win. Forget referees decisions etc, we are more than capable of playing that shower of crap right off 'our' park. Im not settling for this anymore, why cant we beat them? they have got the worst team i have seen in my lifetime, and us the best? what is going on? I thought after what happened at wembley the players should have fire in their hearts to beat these muppets, but we played lacklustre in my opinion. 2nd to every ball and without real desire. I know form goes out the window in derby games but ffs, we couldnt string a couple of passes together at times. We missed pienaar terribly, mirallas played a blinder until he went off. wish the rest of them had the same desire. i cant stand losing to what i call a 'reserve' liverpool side. im sorry if most disagree but im sick of disappointment. please god, just let us win.

To be honest, I think the fixture came at the wrong time for us. We haven't played well the past 2 or 3 games.

    Have to disagree.........

I thought we played our asses off after going 2-0 down in 20 minutes....... and not bottling it !!!!!

We just need to cut out the stupid defensive errors and we will be pushing for a CL place on merit.

Derby or not, you cant give a team 2 soft goals and expect to break them down when they have something to hold on to. The fact that we were able to without too much effort, is making me think that we may have the makings of an exciting team this term.......

I just hope we can keep Mirallas fit and he learns to see better options before having a crack at goal...

Proud of the team yesterday..... just more defensive composure and we are there.

I understand what you're saying but this is the first side we've had in a long time that could of come back from 2-0 down.
12 months ago we'd have folded.

Their first goal resulted from a free kick that never was, they cripples Mirallas otherwise we would have won, bugs Bunny should have been sent off for that "tackle" on Distance,

Neville and Osman need to be dropped to a supporting role. They should be replaced with Fellaini and someone like Arteta, who was good defensively but could orchestrate a perfect pass.

Arteta still hasn't been replaced and we still miss him, even if we're playing better. With Fellaini to defend the midfield and a playmaker that will allow us actually play through the midfield, we won't lose the ball as much and thus put the defence under pressure as often. The wings are fine, keeping Pienaar and Mirallas. Naismith behind Jelavic upfront. We just need to fix the midfield.

If we had sorted this out during the summer, any game we had drawn (excluding Newcastle because _fuck the officials) we'd have won instead.

Thank God Osman was in midfield yesterday, he scored, was everywhere and the only one trying to move the ball into dangerous areas. MOTM by far over the whole game.......

Good call Howie, his passion shone through and he inspired the players around him to go that extra yard as did the crowd who were immense with the level of support they gave the lads, i could actually hear them in my back garden and i am in Aintree, awe inspiring!

Yeah, pertty much. Except we can't rely on him to be fit all the time. We need another player.

Havent seen possession stats but we mullered them... The rs kicked... Pulled... Fell over... Punted... For their lives... Messy mediocre opposition dragged the game down to their level... Brendan rogers passing football now consists of backwards balls and big balls forward... Even phil neville n jagielka tried to keep it down more than their "superstars"..

Yes he stopped himself short of saying the deserved the victory on ssn... Footballing cliche no longer applicable to everton... Mirallas chopped diced and minced them in the first half...
