seems lke a fantasy, but is he going to get offered a new contract on that kind of money anywhere. He isn't a stella name for the likes of Madrid any more . would need Fergie gone, Rooney to stand up to his agent, bit of imagination from Everton board,.still probably a fantasy....bad news would be that we may have to pay ourselves for international appearances

    -----------------

Why would Fergie need to be gone? Why would he need to stand up to his agent? He can do what he wants, including telling his employers/employees/subcontractors to **** off, as long as no contracts are breached. Can't he?

    "or am i missing something?"

how much time have you got?

You didnt actually post a link, with any factual evidence, saying that Rooney was going to finish his career at Everton. On top of that, the quote that you gave from Moyes did not say, at all, that Rooney was going to finish his career at Everton either.

Now whilst i await on your apology, i'm going to pour myself a large glass of Jack, light up a big fat cuban cigar, and chillout in anticipation of what you are clearly incapable of doing.......

So Moyes would welcome Rooney back?  He may - but I think the majority of supporters would not.  My reason?

Nobody could really see him staying at Everton but the way he treated the club, board and supporters should be taken into account before any thought of having him back should be considered.  Everton were treated shabbily by a selfish, unethical player and his agent and it was this treatment of Everton and their supporters, not the fact he went to Man Utd, that made him one of the most despised players ever to wear the shirt of Everton.

Rooney was a great prospect up to when he broke his foot in the World cup but after that he has so far failed to impress.  I know this is subjective but I would like to add that I work with many Man Utd fans who share the same opinion.

I also think that as the people's club that Everton should take an ethical and moral stance and refuse someone who showed no respect or consideration for the club to return.  Many people may disagree with my comments and say to let it be but the problem is that as a responsible club we have a duty to our younger supporters to show that behaviour like Rooney's has no place in society and certainly not at a club like Everton or indeed any other club for that matter.  We should not re-enforce negative actions with reward.

LOL!  No, I'm not a Man U fan.  I am a life long Evertonian who no longer lives in Liverpool and there are a lot of Man Utd 'supporters' where now live.  I use the word supporter in quotes because half of these fans were LFC supporters when they were winning trophies!

I was a Gwladys St season ticket holder for many years before I moved and have kept my thoughts about Rooney quiet until I saw Moyes's comment.

albenn, rooney was young and immature when he left EFC. he's grown up a lot since then. well, maybe not that much but he has grown up enough to apologise to moysey.

i can see him finishing his career with us  perhaps and there should be no hard feelings on our part should he decide to do so.

There should be hard feelings towards him and rightly so, he is a gobsh**e I for one would not welcome him back and i would assume that most of the park end feel the same.

I understand what you are saying Knoxy2001e - but
immature or not he did it.  The guidance was there for him.  Do you also
remember the badge kissing episode when he returned with MUFC?  That was more
than immature - that was vindictive and pre-meditated.  He eventually apologised
to Moyes but not until he was forced to do so.  I didn't see any apology to the
fans.  Also, from what I've seen since then, he hasn't matured much at all.
Just my opinion really and is based solely on his media
    appearances.

I know the move to MUFC brought in much needed money but
I think the plan by Everton was to let the bids go up a little more and then let
him go.  He could have helped the team a little more by hanging on just a little
while but chose to spit out his dummy!

My opinion will neither deter or influence Everton as to
whom they let play for them but it really does give out the wrong message.
Young fans are very easily influenced and it will seem as though you can do what
you want to whoever and given a little time all will be forgotten.  In the
meantime, you have what you want both now and in the future!  Like I said
previously, someone needs to make a stand on this amoral behaviour.

Of course, all this is academic at the moment and I
don't know if any of the Everton staff read these posts, but if they do maybe if
the move does look like coming off in the future it may give them another angle
to evaluate if such a move would be in the best interests of the
    club.

koolhandluke8 - If you are referring to my previous posts - then where did I say he had no right in society?  You have made a direct quote bu I cannot find reference to this.  I believe he should have no future at Everton but that's all.

As for 'getting a grip'.  It seems that this attitude is prevalent in society today where the amoral and the banal are embraced. Sad really that we have let our values slip so much.

Who said he has no place in society, all I have said is I don't like him and wouldn't welcome him back. This is my opinion and if you don't like it tough s**t.
