Jose has just signed a 4 month deal with Oldham. James Vaughan? Didnt quite make it.

Shane Duffy, 20 years old, been with us for years.

Luke Garbutt, only 19 but still no 1st team experience.

Conor McAleny, 20 i think he came on as sub once.

are these guys really the new rooneys?

if they havent made it by now will they ever make the grade?

Shane Duffy, has made a few first team appearances, Garbutt started in the league Cup and McAleny has made a couple sub appearances and they've all played european football. Tbf to Garbutt he is up against Baines and Connor has to contend with Jelavic, Mirallas and Naismith.

If they were no good we would have got rid in the summer.

Chamberlain is exceptional for his age and that's why he was bought for vast sums, like Rooney he is an exception to come through at that age, Sterling wouldn't get in our team and he only plays for them as they have no other options, well Downing but you know potato potato!

I think your being a bit harsh to be honest were Duffy is concerned as he is way too young to be brought in at centre half

Garbutt has Baines, Oviedo and Bidwell to contend with so i can see either him or Bidwell getting cut at some point

I know nothing about McAleny but he seems to play 2nd fiddle to Vellios in the under 21's

I DONT THINK ANY EVERTON FANS THINK THOSE YOU LISTED ARE NEW ROONEYS IN TERMS OF QUALITY/STATUS MAYBE ONLY KIDDING YOURSELF MATE !

BARKLEY BEING THE EXCEPTION ON OUR BOOKS AT THE MINUTE ! HE MAY WELL COME GOOD AS HAS ABILITY BUT DOWN TO HIS DESIRE TO SEE HOW GOOD HE COULD BE !

WALLACE IS SUPPOSEDLY HAVING PREM SCOUTS LOOKING AT HIM AT TRANMERE - SO HE MAY COME BACK TO PREM SO IS A LATE STARTER ( THO I ALWAYS THOUGHT HE WAS BETTER THAN BAXTER )

BOTH STERLING AND CHAMBERLAIN WERE BOUGHT FOR A LOT OF MONEY  !

Not everyone around that age can just be thrown into a Premier League team and do well, especially in a team like ours. I'd say like DRINGO above that some players just realise their potential a bit later than others.

Also there are worries from the sports science lot about Sterling, not in regards of ability but more his age. They seem to be concerned that due to his age (17/18 i think) that he hasn't finish growing and the physicality of the league could lead to injury problems later on in his career because he's being pushed too soon.

    Never really rated him.

Crippled by injury after injury (Don't think anyone really put him up there with Rooney)

    - Shane Duffy, 20 years old, been with us for years.
Defenders are too naive until they're 25

    - Luke Garbutt, only 19 but still no 1st team experience.
    Same as Duffy

    - Conor McAleny, 20 i think he came on as sub once.
I don't think anyone really rated him but he's still young.

Arsenal have no forwards, they sell them all to United and Barca. They have no choice but to play youth players. Chamberlain is utter shoite and shouldn't be playing for England for at least 3 more years. He's about as good as Barkley. Arsenal hype up a kid and compare him to Rooney. All of a sudden, Woy decides that because a "top club" has hyped them up, they must be good.

Liverpool have no good forwards. They have no choice but to play youth players.

Don't fall into thinking that the best youth prospects are automatically world beaters. Rooney was a 1 in 1,000,000 exception and even then he only got the game time because we were poor upfront.

Sterling is 17 and already has 3 kids with 2 women. Bookies should do bets if he'll ever reach 10.

Raheem Sterling is 17... Liverpool paid £600k up front to take him as a 15 year old... He is very highly rated in the game... and from what i have seen so far he has a bright future in the game... He is getting a lot of time at an early age but then they have always said if they're good enough they're old enough...

Talent, the likes of Rooney come around once in a generation... I don't think it is realistic to be setting the bar as high as the new Rooney... I would suggest we compare up and coming players with the likes of Osman and Hibbert...

I don't think we have the luxury of throwing our youngsters in at the deep end because realistically the club needs every penny it can muster... If Liverpool has a bad season bedding in youngsters... they have the reserves to cover that... we don't...

Looking at the players mentioned... Baxter has had a bad reputation for a long time... and didn't set the world on fire at Tranmere... Duffy, for me shows a lot of naivety and only time will tell if he makes it but he certainly isn't ready to be a regular just yet... Garbutt I can't comment... McAleny, I cannot see a future for him here...

All told.. because of finances... I think we as fans rely heavily on news of up and coming players... which results in near hysteria if a youngster wears a flash pair of boots in the u12s... If we manage to bring through (or have playing) 2 or 3 home made players in every starting 11 then we will be matching what most clubs have... and at present we have that...

do they match up to the hype we've been getting about them? i dont think that they do and i suspect that the hype does them no good at all.

No they dont... Because the hype is too much...
