Players from the last decade that gave their all!

    Had a heated discussion at work about certain players that give their all for the club. Some of the names i will mention may not be the most talented but always give or gave 100% whilst wearing the everton shirt.

    Lee Carsley.
    To me was one of the most under rated players in the premier league during his time at everton.
    Thought he played his position extremely well and was crucial to our side. Never pulled out of a tackle, Was tough as nails and was happy not attracting too much attention.
    Will always remember his goal against the **** when we beat them 1-0.

    David Unsworth: RHINO, Evertonian through and through. even when he left us for Wigan he came back and watched games from the stand with the everton fans. Was with the blues through many tough seasons, always reliable with a penalty, and was a great defender, especially when he man marked.

    Tony Hibbert: Lacks alot of skill but plays with heart of a lion, lacks pace and a decent cross but is one of the best sliding tacklers i have seen. Saw him get ripped apart in the 2006 cup final and his heart would have been as broken as mine. Local lad he copes alot of stick but dusts it of and has been a very loyal servant to the club. Loved his only goal in his testimonial.

    Tim Cahill, A little bit biased here being an aussie but he played with pride for club and country. Always peformed against the red **** and for a little lad had a great leap on him. A true gentleman of the pitch and always got time for a chat or sign an autograph. Has an everton tattoo and his kids love everton also. Sad to see him leave but the time was right for both him and club.

    Kevin Campbell: His goals saved us from relegation. Everyone laughed at us when we signed an ageing Campbell but he proved them all wrong. Scored some good goals but more importantly carried the team on occasions

    Duncan Ferguson: To be fair prob cost us a few games with his lack of discipline(much like fellanni did early on), but alot of that aggression was from seeing his beloved everton not living up to high standards. He was hard , aggressive but more than anything would die for the club. I could see how heartbroken he was when he left for the geordies but he agreed for the best of the club. Loved by many blues hated by the reds. Loved seeing his figure standing over a decked Paul Ince.


    Could go on but save some players for you guys......Thanks

    Might get slated for this but Phil Neville has been fully committed even though he may not be everyones cup of tea.....tackles on Ronaldo and Cole did it for me.

    Don't think you can add to many more to this as it's really about tenure....I suppose I would have stuck Pienaar in there had he not blighted his record by wanting to move (not that i blame him really).

    At the end of his career I'm sure he'll be in there, Baines and Jagielka already are.....
