Rooney as captain

just heard couple people on radio saying he is ideal captain material for this game cos he doesnt really have to talk to anyone, organise anything, there shouldn't be any tackles and England should be walking it after few minutes. So as long as he doesn't randomly stab someone for no reason then England have proved something and he has shown new found maturity. To be honest though I would refuse to play in team captained by Gerrard, Lampard, Rooney or Terry. Assuming I was asked

I dont think he is the right stuff. and i dont think that he has lived up to early expectations either.

yes, he is good. but is he as good as we all expected he would be one day?

no-one in media will ever admit he went to Man U far too early and was badly advised. His agent was an absolute crook. He is now talked about as being one of best English players, at one point there seemed no doubt he was going to be one of best two or three in the world. am sure Rodwell could even hang around in City squad coming on now and again to misplace a pass then claim he was part of a successful team.

oh i'd play in a team with Rooney as captain any day, i think he's superb, his workrate is as good as anyone, and he plays in whatever position the team needs him in.....you wouldn't see Ronaldo sacrafise 15-20 goals a season to play in a position that better suited his team....
yes he loses his temper from time to time, but so did Roy Keane, so did Maradona, so did Zidane...

i wouldn't refuse, i would just insist that i chose the captain. that is what would happen. by this point i have played for Barcelona for ten years and have such charisma and power that I can do whatever I want in the game. this is a fun game. cheers

wouldn't mind playing with him and agree about his unselfishness, although think this has gone aagainst him at Old Trafford. But if was picking a captain would want someone who would give you a bol locking or encouragement when you needed either and you know you had deserved both. Peter Reid still best saw at Goodison and he wasn't even officially captain

to be honest in my imagination only teams I would ever play for are Everton, Tranmere or Barca. Am hoping none of these players would be signed by these teams

except maybe Rooney, but not as captain. he could play centre half at Tranmere with me in defensive mid bossing him about
