    i know the fellow is a sore subject with some..could only be for 1 or 2 games, but could this be a good thing for the lad..could being full time england captain bring the best out of him in an england shirt?

    understand yer point..but if we win these games a world cup in brazil awaits..i would imagine for any player a world cup in brazil is a must!!!

    lol.. you wont get many spanish saying that..or brazil..germany. argentina..holland..italy..in fact any country with a national team that is any good..can understand why some english people would say that though..not exactly had much to cheer about!

    rooney hasnt got the leadership  qualities a captain needs. does anyone really respect him as a man, or just as a footballer.

    and as a footballer has he lived up to his early promise?  yes, he is good, but not as good perhaps as we thought he was gonna be. and is that down to character as much as anything else?
