    This forum has become a shambles.

    Who is meant to be moderating the viciousness, trolling, flaming, and other young person's internet speak?

    This is meant to be representative of the club.  Is this what you'd like to have as the image?  A bunch of infighting, ill-mannered, prejudicial, squabbling fools?

    There are many Everton fans, good people, who would gladly discuss the club, teach others the history, share the love of this team.  It was demonstrated by the excellent posts on Blue Legends, though I can't sadly recall who they were by.  This is what we should have here, a place where a dad can show his son the club, leave him here in safety.

    This might read like a Worther's advert, though I am nowhere near as old as all that, and it's unrealistic.  But can we at least aspire not to be utter savages at each other?


    There are heated debates about the club at the moment.  I have been dragged in before and ended up getting angry at someone's obtuseness, but debating opinions is not the same as name calling, threats and other behaviour we should have outgrown.

    Please, think of the club when you post.

    I agree with you , I hardly ever go on and put suggestions or ideas. I am a supporter since the 60,s actually I remember my dad taking me to see Everton when the goally was Dunlop and not the tires.

    There are supporters on here that are really interesting but there is so much hate, bullying and french that if my lads were still young I would not let them on.

    Probably I will get someone slagging off but I am glad the school holidays are over so alot will be in bed early.

    Thanks for taking the time to post that.

    I am not after supporters of me, this isn't an ego trip, it's just about making this a good place to be.  I swear I only come on here to try and add some balance half the time, not for enjoyment.

    I do think a lot of the responsibility lies with the Mods.  ahem.

    You are right though, there is far too much pettiness and abuse thrown out by a few members.
    It really does not look appealing to potential new members or younger supporters.

    Having a laugh and a bit of fun is one thing, but being blatantly rude to members is another.

    I honestly think you will find there has only been one Mod about since this new room has started.
    The others have either gone AWOL or cba......

    Milky, I imagine, has a lot on his plate to deal with, going solo.
    Don't get me wrong, he needs a kick in the @ss for letting some things slip so easy. Things that are blatantly wrong.

    This also goes for Mod stalker/basher and rude boy...

    Should he not be asking for some help on this then?  I also think it's a bit daft having the Mods known.  If Milky deleted my posts when I was being a divv I might get narked at him, or he might not want to if we're matey.

    werent the mods milky & gandalf , then jaycee ,russell & not sure the other one's name joined up too.

    not seen gandalf on here or russell much but tbf the mods dont have any control whereas to make this forum more welcoming , when they do delete any posts or warn members about their conduct , they just get abuse!!!!

    not surprising that the membership of this forum is so dismal , when members who dont agree with a comment just resort to abuse because they havent got the intellect to hold a discussion.

    shame really because their are alot of good members who share decent discussions & enjoy some friendly banter but every forum has their problems & usually deal with them quickly unlike here no action is taken

    People only know that the mods have deleted a post because (old BR) everyone knew what mod was what number mod. ie. milky mod #, gandalf mod # etc etc....

    But yes, he does need help imo, from someone who aint afraid to ban complete tools.....

    The Mods need the power to not just ban a members account, but to ban their IP.

    Your spot on Chief...like I said, a sarky comment is one thing, but constant abuse is another.

    To be fair i have baaned complete tools but when they can just re-register its just means constantly chasing your tail.

    As for the forum Gandalf will be back properly from Monday Russ can't get on alot as the forum wasn't available on safari,and i'm sure Jayee has been busy with work and a young child.

    We need support from the club but get either none or very little

    There was a meeting today maybe a few things would have been sorted

    i have been admin on other forums using vb software like the old br had , to ban someone you just banned their name,email & ip , if they rejoined using a proxy you just repeated this & believe me they would soon get fed up as its not hard to see how someone posts & pickup on it quickly

    Certainly I am not meaning to lay the blame at your feet.  You do seem to be flying solo, which must be an impossible task and mean you can't actually enjoy the forum much.

    IP bans can be tricky, NTL used to use the same 4 gateway IPs across the country, I was barred from the expertsexchange because of barring a quarter of NTLs customer base.

    It does need to be run with a reasonably heavy hand at times though, it can get way out of hand, IMHO as I believe the yout' say.

    You aint chasing your tail when there are blatantly there in-front of you.... persistence is the key...
    And wasn't one of the features of this new forum that you get the power to ban ip's....or do you still have to go through the powers that be?

    And PM me the addy to the powers that be, I fancy a nice little mail to them....couple of people on here taking the pish a bit now...

    This ^^^^ Same thing on the site i'm Admin on atm.
