Yeah for me Gibson has to be able to play against QPR...if he misses that game, i really don't think he can be considered for the derby, just too big a game to gamble with him.....

We have to quit that ****!
It's the exact same size as all other Premier League games and he has to come back in with one of them!

There's also the argument that NOT starting Gibson is the bigger gamble!

I wish we could treat it the same as a normal league game against a mid-table team....but we know its not like that....there's more media build up to it, the atmosphere in the crowd will be louder and more feverish than any other game.....and the liverpool players will be well up for it......
also, the tempo is generally higher than most league games, with big tackles going in right from the start (seems like its always a race to get that first crunching tackle in).......and thats a tough game to come back into after being out for 5/6 weeks....in some games you can carry a passenger, i don't think you can in the derby, particularily in centre midfield....

If he is injured, it'll be time for Mirallas to shine playing just behind Jelavic.

Obviously I would rather him be fit, but we have a very strong squad and we have players who can take his place.
