Posts: 19,512October 2012 seriously... i wasnt sure... i thought the act of putting was to get the ball in the hole... in which case a world record putt would presumably be a hole in one... so a 159 ft world record putt got me thinkin...

Posts: 19,512October 2012 dont disagree... but then i thought "putting" was putting the ball in the hole... not too far fetched that a "putter" became known as such by virtue of it being the conventional means by which i putt is achieved....
