Ref this weekend

looking at the ref for this weekend (Kevin Friend), it looks like the football heirarchy are trying to slow Evertons good start, this ref has only done 5 top matches this season and has a total of 15 bookings and 2 reds, not the type of guy we really want when we're playing so well, I know it may well play to our advantage but I always worry about Felli when we have this type of ref. anyone else have any thoughts on this

no moaning there, I was jusk asking what other people thought, we haven't got a big squad and can't afford to lose players with silly sendings off

I wasn't havin a go mate... just the RS know the inside leg measurements of all refs... and if a result doesn't go their way... you can bet they will be complaining about the ref... We have class and dignity at Everton...

Don't get me wrong... when I'm at the game I will let rip if I think the ref or his assistants have a stinker... but that's the passion of the moment...

Over the course of the season it works itself out... I know there are conspiracy theories.... and we've been on the receiving end of some howlers... But I have pride in the fact that we get on with things... Heads held high!

15 yellows and 2 reds in 5 games doesn't seem that unusual to me!

Kevin friend is the ref we had against Blackpool at home a few seasons back. He gave us an advantage, Saha scored and then he brought it back for a freekick. Useless toss pot! Luckily for him we won 5-3 so it didn't affect the result.

Need to be careful he doesn't pick up any cards he's racked up a few yellows so far this season, got a feeling he will be suspended for the derby if he keeps it up

the refs are trying to control games that are faster and more complex than they used to be.

they need technology to help them do a better job of this. goal line tech will be in next season but i think instant replays are also an essential tool to help officials get it right.

after a controversial goal half the world can watch instant replays from different angles within a minute. no wonder the refs get a hammering over it. they should have access to the same technology.

its worked out really well in rugby. we need it, the game needs it, the officials need it.

their first goal was offside. linesman at fault rather than the ref. jeli should have gotta penalty. it happens.

if we give the refs the tools they will be able to do the job better.
