Anti-Everton fans from outside of Liverpool

I have noticed recently (on these forums) that there have been quite a few insults thrown at Everton fans from outside of the City.  One fan saying that he has friends from outside the north west, who often go to games but have had some form of abuse from local fans, this to me is absolutely mental and completely damaging to the club.

I have never personally noticed this or received any abuse from fellow EFC fans (despite my farmer like accent) but I have definitely picked up a nasty vibe from these blueroom forums in recent months.

My Question is why do some locals feel this way?
Is it only a few angry adolescents on these forums or does it run deeper than that?

    Cheers!

(Go easy with any insults as i'm a tad sensetive)

I think really, the insults have come from one person - or as far as I have seen anyway!

Never had any trouble in all the times I've been.

I think it's only a few people who feel you can't be a 'proper' Evertonian unless you were born in the city. And I think the one person on this forum who is making the point about 'wools' isn't saying there shouldn't be anyone supporting the club who isn't a born and bred scouser, just that as far as he has observed it is only the 'native' fans who have organised any form of protest about the state of the club and it's finances.

No-one with any amount of common sense would argue that you can't support a club just because you weren't born in the vicinity.

My Local Club was Wolverhampton, but i certainly don't feel like a Wolverhamptoner. Wolverhampton WAS a decent place in the 70's, but like Many West Midland places its 75% Asians etc now. I became an Evertonian as i fell in Love with the Club in 1976!

I was born in Germany and if that was the rule then i would have to support Herford Town. THANK GOD.
