It would be very dark, intense and intimate on stage.

I think the fact it's a small company doing it will add to it too. Nothing showy, pure psychological torment. This sounds dark, but i always thought Misery shouldn't have had a happy ending, he should have died with her. If they did that as a twist on stage, wow.

One of my teachers took us to see Taming of the Shrew and i've loved live theatre ever since. There's nothing like a performance where you're dragged into the moment, you forget it's on stage but the fact it's live, there in front of you, adds so much to it.

Hahaha not boasting but went to see Taming of the Shrew in the Globe London after we'd been to see the Paralympics. Really enjoyed it but some of it went over my head for sure, quite funny though...

Very nice! I'll have to get around to seeing something at the Globe one of these days.

Taming of the Shrew went way way over my head at 14, not only due to the material but it was a University production and they did an interpretation set on safari. It sounds crazy but it worked.

You know what these uni drama types are like lol.

I never gave Shakespere a second thought until then though, they made it interesting.

Hahaha here I go again, one of the reasons i enjoy the Theatre is my son from when he was young has appeared in many productions, and when he went to Uni, yes youve guessed he joined the Uni theatre group as somat to do while he was there. LUST, Liverpool University Student Theatre.......

It's a lot more constructive than getting leathered. Plus, there are always plenty of women. Although i'm sure that wasn't his primary motivation.  :p

I've not seen that one. Mustn't have been an engrossing narrative if you thought it was done halfway through though. :-))
