Am I right in thinking thats a full squad then when the coco pop cup starts? About time, although I used to enjoy getting rid of yobo for a couple of months

Damn! I was hoping we'd see Neville in midfield more often.

I don't understand why he's quitting the international football, still got so much to give, and especially for the South African team ??
I know we're now happy to have him all season, but he still deserves international football.
One of the best in our squad.

As a South African, I am truly disappointed by this as we finally have a decent coach and have built the national team around him.

The club could have done without him for a couple of weeks or he could have got himself "injured" before matches against no-mark opponents, but I guess it's his prerogative.

I guess he listened to god to show him the way.............. and David Moyes is god!!!!!!!!!!

Will be a great miss in the ACN.

I think he's given SA all he can tbh. There's no one in their squad at his level, that i know of, and they're unlikely to even win the ACN. He may as well prolong his career with us.

It's not even just about these things, there must be thousands of fans enjoying Pienaar playing. Pienaar being in the squad will also inspire upcoming SA-lads and even though they're not favourites, they can fight for the cause. I was something in the 2010 World Cup, that the squad can be proud of and keep building on that.

All respect to Pienaar though with his decision.

This is bad news. I used to slate manure for "encouraging" their players to desert their national teams. Now the mancs can throw this in my face.

Good luck to South Africa in the ACN.

He owes Everton for messing about over his contract and then costing us a fortune to bring him back. Good decision by him

He'll come out of retirement if SA make world cup qualification (which I doubt)

I wasn't too concerned as we have players like Mirallas and Naismith who could have filled in for him, but obviously I am pleased he will be staying with us.

I doubt any full back in the league would be able to cope with the Phil Neville step-over.
