Heitinga really hasn't impressed me since the final game of last season.

He had a shocking euros and hasn't really bounced back. We're a quarter of the way in the season he's not a patch on the Heitinga of last season. Luckily we're playing well overall and we're doing better then expected so if there's a time to play poor then it's when everyone else is playing out of their skin.

Might be a bit harsh but I'd drop him for Distin.

Have to agree with this, we just don't seem as solid at the back when he plays. Jags and Distin have worked better this season which is strange as I thought Distin and Heitinga were stronger together last season.

Absolutely terrible at Swansea, didnt look comfortably against Southampton. Hard to think that hes played in a world cup final

We have three top class centre backs which as good as there is plenty of competition for places. I think all three of them are equally good but for different reasons, and its good to have different options.

Behave, he's not really played much this season and the way we've been playing we don't see much defending. we've only conceded 8 goals this season and scored 18. 2 of those 8 goals were against Leeds were we had a very poor side playing very poor football

He was awful in the Euros and it looks to have knocked his confidence and when a centre back starts qurlestioning himself. I think he needs a run of good performances to return to his best.

    ffs dan already.

clean sheet against swansea and your moaning.

the problem is jags but Moyes won't drop him.

distin and Jonny are the best partnership but Moyes loves jags almost as much as nev but nowhere near as much as Vic obviously.

Must admit, I don't think he's looked as solid, but I'd still have him in the team as captain ahead of Phil Bloody Neville! Nice to see you're still laying off the 'Sheitinga' tag though ;)

    I've just started you off again haven't I?  8-|

I let the Sheitinga tag go when he got his head out of the media and focused on his own game (January). I'll never moan at a player who's giving 100%.

jags does well against the gritty teams with traditional cfs.. johnny is good against footballing sides... distin is a bit of both... imo

Distin isn't the best of the 3 but he's the 1 I'd always play due to his size and pace.

None of the center backs have rated at all so far this season.  They all look nervous and inconsistent.  I still think Heitinga is our strongest overall *IF* he has regular playing time.  I have a feeling he is overly affected by being on the bench.

I think the lads at the back are really missing Gibson, our shaky defence coincides with his absence, Phil Neville can organise really well but he just doesn't have the same mobility as Gibson. It's great to think though that we are awaiting our better "holding" midfielder to return but still able to put on such good displays, that should have other teams worried about us

The whole defence is doing kinda bad to be honest. Except for Baines, obviously.

Distin hasnt had too good a start thats why Moyes put Heitinga in, so untill we start shipping in goals in the Prem well he wont be dropped, simples tzccck...
