Tax evasion is illegal, tax avoidance is a prudent step taken by those who do not wish to be unfairly punished for success, I pay more than sufficient on income from earnings to keep an army of scroungers in benefits and have no beef about that, I feel no obligation however to pay additional tax on assets that I have purchased out of taxed income, anyway, my accountants fees are tax deductible
so not expensive at all !

Yer still a hypocrite...all **** abar high earners leavin' the country, smoke mirrors an loop'oles which allow yer kind t' avoid payin their share.
Romneys secre'ary pays more tax than 'e does.

Well I will be there for the Derby but I am hardly likely to wear a hat with ESCLA written on it and as it is unlikely that I will introduce myself to you I have no fear of you " giving me one"

have no fears, I am a master of disguise, anyway, I like to revert to my roots when I come back up north, have a few pints in the Wilmslow, keep to myself , might even have fish and chips sort of thing. When I went to the Sporting Lisbon game I spent the whole afternoon sitting and drinking with a bunch of lads on the main square, kept my identity secret, one of them wanted my mobile number and I just reeled a number off and he said that's not a mobile number ? they were a bit stand offish after that !

Well put dig, this is my problem with the lad, hate the way people who've left the city to gain their success look down on anyone who's stayed here. They seem unable to comprehend that we may be perfectly happy here.

Happy for you.... But most people of any class/substance don't rub other peoples' noses in it.

You might want to take a look, for example, at J.K. Rowling. Has never forgotten from whence she came.

You, however, suddenly think you're better than from whence you came.

That's the difference between class - and jumped up snobbery.

I'd like to see our Government raise taxes on the rich and big businesses, and set an affordable rate of tax for those on lower incomes...... Oh, hang on, that's not going happen, we've got a Tory-led Government, silly me and my pipe dreams!
