Good news. about time those responsible for the worlds economic ruin picked up the bill.

"French Prime Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault confirmed that there is to be a new 75% tax rate for people earning more than 1m euros (£800,000; $1.3m) a year.

But he insisted that nine out of 10 citizens will not see their income taxes rise in the new budget.

The government plans to raise 20bn euros in extra revenue."

75%? Pretty much theft. There'll be more people dodging this extortionate tax and more people moving to countries with lower taxation. They might make money but not much, and they'll _piss off a lot of influential people in the process. Great job, socialist French _prick.

Hey Knoxy, I know how much you love reports that bore you to death, but I'm going to provide a short one:

    http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/news/nilegardiner/100182875/frances-socialist-75-percent-tax-rate-is-economic-suicide/

Hey, this might be a good thing for us! Hooray France! (Never thought I'd say that phrase in my life)

Some might but most won't. (go into tax havens) but those who would probably are already.

I think its a great idea & should be repeated here .

    Just don't down the 90- 99 % rate of the 60s & 70s.

LOts will have expensive accountants to dodge it but more won't be able to.

I'd love to see what UK could raise by doing the same.

Simply move over the border into French speaking Switzerland, buy a house, pay a one off Kanton tax which is a percentage of the
value of the house you bought and thereafter only municipal taxes depending on which Kanton you live in. Worked for Roger Moore, Shirley Bassey,Louis Hamilton and thousands more !

Accountants are not at all expensive when you consider the amount they save you, mine actualy explained a loophole to me that was in fact endorsed by MP's specifically designed to avoid capital gains tax on the sale of a second home, it's not obvious and does require the use of smoke and mirrors but that's what you pay good accountants for.

Neutrality brings lots of benefits with it, like being able to store **** gold and masterpieces for a fee then being allowed to visit P.O.W
    camps and give glowing reports.

Tax evasion is illegal, tax avoidance is a prudent step taken by those who do not wish to be unfairly punished for success, I pay more than sufficient on income from earnings to keep an army of scroungers in benefits and have no beef about that, I feel no obligation however to pay additional tax on assets that I have purchased out of taxed income, anyway, my accountants fees are tax deductible
so not expensive at all !
