Bill can't sell the club because no one is interested in it.

Utter mongs say that there must be people interested in buying Everton.

Bill is meeting with three potential buyers currently.

Utter mongs say no one is interested in the buying the club.

Is this story treating these protesting fans like utter mongs?

    Yes, I think he is.

Moral of the story. If you don't want to be treated like a **** idiot, then don't act like one.

    HAHAHA

bills been meeting with "3 potential buyers" for the past 10 years.

the problem is the ending is always the same.

Bk is the same as doug ellis was for villa, but at least ellis left with some dignity.

Doug Ellis sold a club in a different financial world... and with a better stadium.

Villa fans don't view him acting with much dignity for the most part either.

Diffferent financial world HOW, kenrights been looking for over 10 years????????

and villa fans do rate him.  Ellis was in a similar siutation to what kenright is in now, he had no money to take villa further, and there were "ellis out" posters aswell as protests.

The problem he had was he wanted the full asking price for the club as well as the new owner to then wipe off all of the debts.

after unsuccessfully looking for a new buyer, he sold the club for much less then it worth as long as the new owner, in return would wipe out most of the debts.  Think the club was worth 130m, he sold it for 64m.

MOTD did a piece on him last season, he walked through the turnstyles with the rest of the fans, they were all patting him on the back, and chanting his name

Loads of clubs get sold and it works sometimes and it doesn't others... and normally the result has little or no bearing on the class a dignity of the pervious owners. I expect Blackburn thought there they were going somewhere then they got bought. Newcastle fans too wanted rid of their previous owner too.

You'd also be pretty hard pressed to find anyone who'd describe Ken Bates as dignified and classy... but Chelsea have got to be one of the best football ownership stories around.

Villa was bought in 2006 the current global financial crisis stuck in 2008... regardless of how long ago you have liked Everton to have been sold... to say "Diffferent financial world HOW" is just ridiculous in the extreme.

I seem to remember I had you and your muppetish comments on ignore on the last forum. I'll just have to do that manually on this one.

I'm not sure how happy Villa supporters are supposed to be about Ellis selling to Lerner anyway - Look at the value of players they've sold in the last couple of years - about £80 Million - and in that time, they've only spent about half of that.

And have debts more than double ours at £110 Million.....so I'm not sure where this notion that Lerner wiped out most of their debts came from!

at least they had the chance to.  at one time they had milner, donwing and young in the same team, they were close to creating something special.

lerner decided not to take the risk,  as debts were mounting.

but now having slashed the wage bill and debts, they are now starting to rebuild and have money to do so.

failing to acknowledge WHY villa  was sold,.  as I said if kkenright really wanted to sell he could go the same road ellis did, and sell the club for less then its worth (but still making a substantial profit on the shares he brought) in return for the new owners wiping off the debts and promising funds.

and failing to acknowledge, kenright has been looking for over 10 years.  So how about BEFORE the financial meltdown.

2000,2001, 02,03, 04, 05 (WHEN WE GOT 4th position, perfect time to sell), 06.  Why wasnt kenwright able to sell the club then.

2005? Why would you sell a club that had just finished fourth?

If we hadnt been cheated out of the group stages of the CL we would be in a completely different financial situation than we are now.

We had Lescott, Baines, Jagielka, Arteta, Pienaar in the same squad. i know which I'd rather have!
How many times in the last 7 years have Villa finished ahead of Everton?
    Once!
And how are they starting to rebuild when they've taken in over £40 Million this Summer alone for Downing and the 2 Young's and spent about £15 Million on Given and N'Zogbia with the rest gone down a mystery hole?
If the money is there to strengthen, why aren't they strengthening?

"Interested parties from the Far East, Europe and China have all made approaches"

"Interested parties", that covers a lot of ground.

we have to get a buyer who recognises and appreciates evertons history and traditions.

we dont need another carson yeung.

That's an interesting viewpoint: ideally we would want a filthy rich investor who recognises and respects our club's history and traditions.....

....but how many of us would settle for them being just filthy rich?

We need the money first and foremost. They can learn the history and traditions as they go along. Although it would be nice if they did their homework or had prior knowledge first.
