'No Evertonian wants the club to spend money they have not got' - from the article.

'...the group's members said they wanted to see Everton "appoint a fully autonomous group of professional individuals who can effectively develop and implement a strategy that will identify and sell the club to a buyer who can demonstrate an ability and a genuine desire to take the club forward on both a commercial and football level." ' - also from the same article.

So who do the BU expect to pay for this 'autonomous group of professional individuals'?

These folks are becoming serial contradictions.

at least they are going about it the right way this time.

last time, the protest was announced one day before the match, and the few people that turned up were sworn at by people going to the match

I have to say that I think Robert Elstone's comments, as reported on the Everton website, are unhelpful and potentially imflammatory. I am not a member of the Blue Union but as an Evertonian (for 50+ years) I am very concerned that after at least  three years of failure to find a suitable buyer we are no further forward. To describe as "risable" a suggestion that someone else might do better is unhelpful and arrogant. Though it pains me to say it, Liverpool FC proved what can be done by succesfully challenging the status quo. Other clubs with far less history and potential than us have attracted buyers- the question has to be asked why can't we? We really need to engage someone who is recognised as professionally competent to drive forward the sale of our club. Although Bill Kenwright is undoubtedly a committed Evertonian I would question his ability to achieve this end- his emotional attachment to the club is clear for all to see but could actually be a hindrance; we need someone with the expertise and a degree of dispassionate objectivity to lead on this critical issue.Contrary to what Robert says, the team is weaker this season in numbers and proven premier league class players than it was 2 and a half years ago, for example, when we got to the FA cup final and finished 5th in the league. We are also now weaker relative to a number of other sides, such as Stoke, who have invested more heavily than us in recent transfer windows. We can't wait another three years to sort this- we may be in the Championship by then! None of this will stop me supporting the team on the field tomorrow and during the rest of the season, but urgent and more imaginitive action is now necessary if we are to stop the rot before it engulfs the club.

How narrow minded and insular you must be to keep banging on about having to be from Liverpool.

My dad is a scouser, my mum from Birkenhead.  As a lass, she didn't care much for football, she preferred rugby.  So I was brought up a toffee.  Like my dad.  And his dad.  My brother's son, living in Leeds will be the same.

Should we all change to our local team?  I can support Forest, where I now live, or Tranmere, my nephew Leeds or Bradford?

    Madness!
