NSNO thread re protest.... working on the chants now

Sorry to add yet another thread on this but seriously, this is hilarious reading about them organising (for want of a better phrase) this protest.

    http://www.nsno.co.uk/forums/index.php/topic,14209.0.html

They are working on chants at the moment.  Early favourites are 'Kenwright Out!' and 'Sack The Board'....which appear to some what fly in the face of their press releases.

Although one plucky participant has even noted that it is 'a physical impossibility as the board can't be sacked'. Whilst talking about both the protest and his involvement in it with the sort of religiously misguided fervor that one might expect from a young David Koresh.

Yes its cringe worthy and embarrassing.

But lets give them their due...it is also morbidly compelling. Its like watching a car crash in slow motion.

Have you been on kipper lately? There are 5 pages of uninterrupted "YES"s to protesting.

SOS1878 seems pretty pro BU too.

It seems to me that this is the only forum with such an anti-BU feeling. I'm not sure why that is, though.

No, I've not been on Kipper.

SOS is part of BU though isn't it? So you expect that, and then there is the type of person who posts a lot on kipper.

Maybe that goes some of the way to explaining it.

    I don't think it does.

Regards Kipper: I think it's far too simplistic to write off their perspective because they disagree with you, or because "of the type of person who posts there". If we're following that logic we can write this forum's opinion off too because of the type of person (milky et al) that post here and the fact we only have about 12 regular posters.

I think there is clearly more support for the BU than you think. I'll be honest, I was surprised myself at the level of support for them when I did the rounds yesterday.

You might have a point about SOS1878 though (I have no idea if they're part of BU or not)

I'm not going to enter into the simplistic nature of entering into swiping generalisations bag you've been hawking around on this issue so far.

But I will say that you appear to be assuming I don't think there is much support for this. On the contrary, given the financial performance of Everton over recent years compared to that of perceivably lesser clubs. And the prevelance of a whole host of weird and wonderful (if ill conceived in my view) belief system around the world.

Its hard not to envisage there being an awful lot of support for this. But that doesn't make it right.

To be fair though, I'm very much in favour a bit of protest and dissent. Its just that those doing the shaping of this campaign, the reasoning, its aims and the manner in which it has been conducted. Its more than poor, and they are acting like complete idiots that they so clearly are. Thats what I'm disappointed with.

But its not that I don't think think there will be sizeable support for it though. As our planet has proved time and time again, we have no shortage of stupid people.

Hopefully you meant to say "I'm not going to *re-enter* the world of
swiping generalisations" because you sort of did, in your previous
comment. I'm glad you recognise the weakness there, though.

I agree with quite a bit of the rest of your post -- fair dues. Though
labelling thousands of our fans as "stupid" for having a different
perspective on moving forward, to me anyway, is cheap.

It's all about opinions isn't it? (it isn't... really.. that's just a cliche I use to end an awkward discussion)

I'm not sure TC is generalising he and i have both witnessed idiocy from he BU.

I have also witnessed genuine concern for our club.

Andy(sorry mate) really wants the BU to work but seems unsure what they represent and continuallytries to show them in a good light whilst actually idntifying their weaknesses.

Ya know what's gonna happen....20,000 supporters who usualy walk down that road on their way to their entrance are gonna be stuck there coz the road will be blocked - they'll have nothing to do with this protest.....but someone from TBU will take pictures, put them online, and boast about the 20,000 people who turned up to protest.

Using a handful of idiots as representative of thousands, is generalising milky.

There are a handful of idiots who attend the games and shout vile abuse
at players, but they aren't representative of
Evertonians. Nor would any reasonable man say they were...

Of course within the ranks of BU support there will be morons, but in
fairness there seem to be a few on here standing on the opposite side of
the fence too. They're representative of nobody but themselves.

You are using the "few" that you have witnessed as general of the BU, and you have done that many times in the past week I've been back.

There's a difference in saying the BU are [insert generic insult] and in saying you've had abuse from a couple of them on twitter.

You're too naturally antagonistic to see this, I know.

    This qoute from Club Everton

"The blue union are an embarrassment to our club, a complete joke. Thankfully they’ll get a few hundred and we can all have a good laugh."

There is one for them as well
